As efforts continue to reach agreement between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, Yahadut Hatorah MK Moshe Gafne announced on Monday, 29 Adar, that despite what is believed, the chareidi party has no problem going to early elections if that is what is decided.

He explained that is not what is preferred, but if this is what is occurring his party will not prevent the Knesset from dissolving and calling for early elections.

He adds however, that since there are no “major issues” facing the government, going to early elections over the Israel Broadcast Authority issue “Would be irresponsible” but if this is what occurs, the chareidi party is okay with it as “it might even improve our situation”.

Gafne stressed “We don’t believe elections at this stage is the correct thing but we are not afraid of elections and if compelled to do so, we will once again turn to voters”.
