Who Made Off With The Cash At The Chasunah Of The Son Of Mashpiah R’ Motta Frank?

Noted Breslov mashpiah in Eretz Yisrael, Rav Mordechai (Motta) Frank married off his son 2 weeks ago in the presence of hundreds of invited guests. When the Chasunah was over, it became clear that someone had stolen the safe containing cash and checks during the simcha.

In a notice sent to his friends by Rav Frank he writes, “Holy friends. In order to fulfill ‘והייתם נקיים’, all of the contents of the safe from my son’s chasenah have disappeared. We tried getting to the bottom of this, without success”.

“If any of you placed a check in the safe, please cancel it. Please, also probe if the check was cashed and perhaps this will provide a lead”.

  1. typical ywn putting picture of berland coming to the wedding to incite attention to the article or just doing plain and simple what ywn does best make a ruckus

  2. Reminds me of a case about thirty years ago when the mechutan was filmed stealing the envelope containing the cash to pay the caterer. The marriage didn’t last.
Although I hope they catch the villain responsible for this heartless act, it doesn’t take much effort these days to set up a camera to watch a safe.

  3. Not something to joke about. Its really sad; perhaps one of the guests needed the money more than the chasan/kalah but even that doesn’t justify ganavah. We have read about stories where the chosen’s family lost the box with checks when the kids went off on a honeymoon and asked the family to “take care” of the gifts. In that case, most of the guests stopped payment on their checks but sadly, many gifts these days are in cash.
