IDF Raises Level of Alert Ahead of Planned Gazan Onslaught


Various IDF units have completed preparations to deal with the expected onslaught of protesters that are expected to throng the border fence in Gaza at the behest of Hamas tomorrow afternoon.

The IDF announced that they will take all means necessary in order to prevent the multitude of Gazans from breaching the fence and gaining access into Israel. They will also takes all measures possible in order to prevent injuries or deaths to Gazan residents in an effort to prevent a further escalation of violence in the region.

“The goal of our forces, many of whom will be spending Seder night away from their families, is to protect Israel’s peace and make sure that Israelis have a quiet Seder night without any unusual incidents occurring,” said a statement from the IDF spokesperson’s office.

Earlier on Thursday, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said: “Due to the heightened state of operational readiness now being assumed by the IDF across the country, many of the soldiers will not be going home for the Seder. I wish to personally thank the soldiers of the IDF for their devotion, sacrifice, professionalism and motivation. I am proud to be the Defense Minister of soldiers such as these. Israel certainly can rely on such people.”
