VIDEO: The Chareidi Who Was The Last Wounded In The Yom Kippur War

The following video, with Yitzchak Drexler, explains how the “Chareidi Garin” fought in the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and how since then, things have become far more extreme.

Drexler explains how once upon a time, chareidim served and times were simply vastly different than today.

Drexler is pleased that this year, on Independence Day, programs will include the loss and bereavement in the chareidi community. He feels this story is never told and most are unaware of what truly took place and the chareidi involvement back then.

The video is in Hebrew.

  1. The headline should read the last casualty, not the last wounded. The interviewee was just Niftar of wounds he received in the Yom Kippur war, and is therefore counted as a casualty of that war.
