HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz, Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim and Yachad party chairman, Eli Yishai, on Sunday evening participated in the Yahadut Hatorah election rally in the Jerusalem Convention Center (Binyanei Ha’uma).

During his address, Rabbi Mazuz said, “don’t think that the Sephardim will not vote ‘Gimmel’ this time, quite the contrary, for in the past, Maran Rav Ovadia voted ‘Gimmel’. He learned in the talmid torah of Rav Moshe Porush, the grandfather of Meir Porush, who is in Knesset, and he learned there and respected that which he learned.

“We are in a time period when everything is transformed, everything goes, everyone is competing with another as to who can be more Mechalel Shabbos, and who can destroy religion more. No! the Torah will not be destroyed. Everyone may be destroyed but the Torah will remain.

“The best shiur in the ashkenazi yeshiva is the Rambam and he is sephardi, and one cannot give a shiur without Rambam. We too must take advantage of the situation you must unite, not to differentiate between one another, sinas chinam will bring nothing. We have the Kosel which the Reform wish to swallow up. We have Shabbos which they have turned into a totally secular day.

“Today everything is destroyed, we must unite, to be strong, to be the majority, we must have 10 seats B’ezras Hashem,” concluded Rav Mazuz.

When Rabbi Mazuz arrived at the event, his presence was announced and he was given the utmost respect as the emcee acknowledged the fact that the Torah giant allocated time to participate in the election rally “together with Gedolei and Tzadekei Hador”.
