Yahadut Hatorah: Nothing Has Changed Regarding the Draft Law

Yahadut Hatorah was scheduled to convene on Tuesday afternoon, including the eight candidates elected to the 21st Knesset. The meeting will surround formulating their position and demands for upcoming coalition talks.

The main item on the agenda is the draft law, and understanding has been reached between Degel Hatorah and Agudas Yisrael, that they are of one voice and there will be no compromise regarding the draft law and their demands that the current draft bill be amended.

According to a Ladaat News report, efforts were made to reach the same understanding with Shas, but to date, this has not occurred, with the report explaining Deri is ‘punishing’ Degel Hatorah for its connection with Eli Yishai.

Yishai dropped out of the race and recommended his backers vote for Yahadut Hatorah, amid reports that Yishai made some deal in which he will benefit for backing the ashkenazi chareidi party.
