Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau Visits Shaare Zedek Hospital To Participate In Chanukah Event

Chief Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Dovid Lau Shlita visited Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem on Tuesday, the second day of Chanukah, taking part in a holiday ceremony in the pediatric nephrology unit. The Chanukah celebration was arranged in cooperation with the תקווה ומרפא NGO and hospital CEO Prof. Ofer Marin, Prof. Yonatan Halevi, and Prof. Yaakov Frischberg, with the latter heading the pediatric nephrology unit.

Rav Lau was given the honor of lighting the menorah for the children and staff, with officials explaining part of the care year-round in Shaare Zedek includes bringing simcha to the children, and this is accomplished in no small part with the assistance of the NGO.

Rav Lau said, “On Chanukah, there are only eight lights, but they exude a great deal of light. I wish you, the children, a great light in your lives, many more times the Chanukah candles, accompanied by good health and may you not require any medical care.”
