About a quarter of seriously ill coronavirus patients currently hospitalized in Israel are under the age of 60, Ynet reported.

According to Health Ministry data, 14.6% of seriously ill virus patients are aged 50-59, 5.4% are 40-49, and 2.1% are 30-39.

There are also four young adults in their 20s in serious condition, three teenagers and two children younger than 10.

The two children, both girls, have been hooked up to ventilators.

  1. Can you please report how many children right now are on chemo? Or how many have been diagnosed with autism? Or how many suffer from addiction?

  2. I assume @Yashar that @Mindful is trying to continue the narrative that we don’t have to worry about children because they’re not at risk. By asking about other kids and illnesses, s/he wants to show that you can’t close schools etc. because of two kids on a ventilator when more kids than that have cancer etc.

The flaw to that argument is that we can’t protect cancer kids by closing schools, cancer is not an infection passed between people.

Addiction is preventable, maybe we should ban all alcohol and drugs and enforce them highly to prevent kids getting addicted.

  3. @yehuda2001: Thank you. Yes, I presume that was his point. By-the-way, even forgetting about the merits or lack thereof of his/her intended argument for a moment, my main issue with his/her post was simply that he/she had the chutzpah and lack of sensitivity to choose an article about Yiddishe kinder in dire medical straits as his/her venue to espouse his general gripes with lockdowns and the like. If he/she had a different point that somehow was appropriate in this venue, I am waiting to hear it.
