Four Contenders for Kadima Leadership Race

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit and Public Security Minister Avi Dichter will square off in the Kadima primary elections to choose another party leader. The primary race is expected to be held in mid September.

Livni has already rented an office on Chasmonaim Street in Tel Aviv to serve as her campaign headquarters. The four have already begun de-legitimizing Olmert and are engaged in almost daily parlor meetings and other events, seeking to build enough support ahead of the race.

The leaders in the race, Livni and Mofaz, are working to bring local municipality leaders and other public figures on board, seeking to establish ‘their camps’ in the Kadima party.
