What is it with Israeli road accidents kill more than victims of wars. You need to make every road in Israel have four lanes. You should not have to pass a car by going into an oncoming lane. It’s crazy. You need one of the four lanes to be a lane for emergency stops. This idea of expanding the lanes would make use of the so much empty land Israel has. The world and UN will not be able to scream that your taking over land and settling it. Your are improving the safety of highways and roads. But also securing israeli land from being settled by our enemies. You want traffic moving and not have tourists and yidden stuck in heavy traffic.
All these one lane roads are also dangerous as ambulances can’t pass to answer emergencies quickly. They too get stuck in especially local traffic. I was once walking down the main road in Geula that leads to meah shearim kikar shabbos intersection. An ambulance with its lights on hardly was able to move at the pace I was walking. I ran up to the corner and stopped the traffic and wave all the cars to move forward so that the ambulance can speed up. The ambulance driver a chassidisha yid waved a thanks to me as he reached the corner. In Boro park if a Hatzolah vehicle blares its emergency lights and sirens, everyone rushes to the corners and stops traffic on both sides to get cars in front of ambulance to move forward quickly. Where is the common sense of Israeli drivers. Also I spoke to Hatzolah guy in Israel. The government does not let private Hatzolah cars to pass lights and use emergency lights and sirens. This must change.
@Heimisha guy Highway 6 is a fully divided 6 lane highway, nothing more “dangerous” than any highway in the tristate.
Another Meron victim. How long will it take until people wake up, and follow the many gedolim who resolutely abstain from the Lag Baomer goings on there and stay home, from Rav Elyashiv, to Chacham Ovadia, to the Rebbes of Gur, Belz, Vizhnitz, and others.
