Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa on Wednesday addressed the World Economic Forum on Davos, using the assembly to promote his viewpoint regarding ongoing efforts towards the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Moussa stated that the ongoing process cannot continue and if a state is not established soon, then a one-state solution must be implemented, a state of “Israelis and Palestinians” on the basis of citizenship. He added that “occupation, resistance and crisis” cannot continue. Joining PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), Moussa blamed Israel and Israel alone for the stalled talks, explaining the reason is due to Jerusalem’s refusal to comply with demands for a total cessation of “settlement construction”.
Moussa told supporters that one way or another they are moving forward, either towards statehood or one state. He realizes that such a state, as he proposes, would grant residents of Judea, Samaria and Gaza citizenship and therefore, immediately change demographic realities. He stressed “we will not accept any more tricks”.
