Deep Dish Pear Pie


2 frozen pie crusts, defrosted

2-1/2 pounds pears

2 tablespoons flour

1 tablespoon margarine

¾ cup maple syrup

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon soy milk or nondairy creamer

1 tablespoon sugar

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Cut pears into thin slices and toss with flour and margarine.  Stir in maple syrup, nutmeg and cinnamon.  Pour into pie crust.  Top with second crust and crimp edges.  Cut a few vents in the top.  Brush with the soy milk and sprinkle with the sugar.  Bake for about 45 minutes.  Best served warm with vanilla ice cream.
