Unseen video footage of the Nazis YM”S found

A 10-minute home-made film showing Nazi officers running a Second World War labour camp in southern Russia has been found in a church in Devon.

The footage shows troops forcing prisoners to work, while officers are seen relaxing with coffee and cake.

Historians said they believe the footage, found in Cullompton Baptist Church, is unique and different from the normal polished Nazi propaganda films.

Elayne Hoskin, of South West England Film and Television Archive, said: “You can’t help wondering what were these women feeling like, with men with guns standing watching them and a man with a camera smiling and waving.

It is not known for certain how the film came to be stored at the church.
