E”Y: Children steal and burn Mezuzos

mezuzah.jpg“We loath Jews and anything related to the Jewish faith,” six teens said, stunning police investigators. The boys, aged 12 to 15, were arrested Monday night on suspicion of burning an Israeli flag and mezuzah parchments torn from doorposts.

They were released on Tuesday morning and placed under house arrest.

Police investigators and detectives from the Central District arrived at the school and located the six students who are all new immigrants but not all Jewish. They admitted to burning the flag.

The boys were handed over to the juvenile department for further investigation where they described their recent acts of vandalism and claimed to be Satanists.

They say they had stolen at least eight mezuzahs from apartments in one street then lit the parchments in one of the school structures. The structure burnt down as a result.

They also shocked the investigators by telling them that they inflict wounds on their friends, steal, and destroy public property.

Head of the investigation unit, Chief Superintendent Meir Cohen, told ynet: “We are talking about troublers of Israel. They hate anything related to the Jewish faith. We are trying to find all of the places they have vandalized.

Most of them are not Jewish and some are from broken homes; they have developed an intolerable hatred to anything related to the Jewish faith and to Israel.

  1. We have to realize that when Jewish adults are anti-religion, we try to be Mekarev them. When Jewish children/teens act up in our own Mosdos, we distance ourselves from them and label them. Why do we give up on being Mekarev kids/teens and we rush to be Mekarev adults?

  2. I am assuming they are not Jewish or at least the ringleaders are not Jewish. Much erev rav came along with the already dubious aliyah from the former Soviet Union over the past 15 years. I lived in Moscow and often flew on flights to EY that included a lot of emigrants as passengers – quite a few seemed to be goyim, and I will never forget the conversation I had with an out and out psychotic on the customs line one night as I was heading to EY for a visit.

  3. I oly saw one or two posts saying we shoul deal with the kids and the problem. Once again, I am hearing let’s ship them off etc – we shoul dbe taking these kids under our wings and helping them. Even if they have to serve some time, which they probably should, we should be working with them not writting them off.
This is typical for so many issues that face our communities – hide from the problem, hide the problem, sweep it under the rug – anything but deal with the actual issue.

  4. Again, those of us who are talking about deportation are assuming that these kids are not Jewish al pi halacha. The “Jewish” Agency has to maintain a huge staff of bureaucrats who are living it up in Russia, and the way they do it is to search for immigrants who are perhaps vaguely connected to a Jewish grandfather. These are the troublemakers, and such shkootzim have no place in EY.

Bravo! The best respose yet is yours.
    Joseph:
Secular Zionism is dying fast as you can see – they burned the Israeli flag as well.

Have you ever heard of Lev L’Achim? It is important to have opinions, as we all obviously do. But you can actually DO SOMETHING!!! Lev L’Achim has programs which are mekarev children and through them adults. DO a little research (or reply) and you can do alot to correct what you exposed as a problem.
