Monsey matzoh bus **UPDATE**

m6.jpg[Amazing photos inside the bus available HERE] Much talk has been made in the media regarding the now famous Monsey matzoh bakery which is built in a school-bus. A short while ago, Yeshivaworld received word that the bakery has been reopened!! Next year, the bus must be moved ten feet away from the home, and a few small details changed. (Seems like this bakery “is on wheels”.) Photo credit: MM

  1. The man is an absolute “genius.” He describes himself as an ” inventor ”

The NY Post even had a picture of him on an exercise bike that he uses to grind the wheat. (… he looks like he’s only on that bicycle once a year- at Pesach )

But perhaps he’s on to someting. If we could make a truly mobile Matzah factory- akin to the Lubavitch Mitzvah Tanks- it could turn this ostensibly Chillul Hashem into a Kiddush Hashem.

There are mobile hot dog vendors (those silver trucks at construction sites)- why not Matzah bakeries ?

  2. A lesson for us ALL to not be so quick to condem a fellow Yid based on a news report – or neighbor – or whomever!

    Chag Kasher V’Somayach!

  3. i wonder if the tv news station came back and did a follow-up story after the slash and burn story they did over the weekend

  4. As I said!

I figured right away that this bakery will be back in business for this pesach!

    Great News!

(I just wonder why YW did not post one of my comments on this subject?)

  5. lets all make a maaos chitim campaign to buy tis yid a RV toy hauler (with a ramp on the back (used to drive quads and motor cycles) so he can have his mataza bakery to go. Even cook and bake while driving. I think that would be soo cool.

  6. So, after all, there was no chillul hashem at all.
This may be the lesson of the Mishnah in Avos, Hevu Mesunim Badin – do not be hasty to judge other people.

  7. Maybe this is peshat in the mishnah in Avos: Hevu Mesunim Badin – do not jump at someone and accuse straight away.
Find out the facts first as in the end the Rabbi is right and the media is wrong (again)

  8. Sorry to inform you all but the rabbi HAS NOT been given permission to bake matzo under the current conditions. He MUST first, at the very least, provide the building department with an engineers certification on the design and installation of the oven and accessories. He also move the bus at least 10 feet from the house. If he does bake he would be breaking his promise to the building inspector and would be subject to fines.
