shaving a beard isn’t the end of the world, and this guy is a little confused = it happens to many many BT’s and geirim, and they jump around… so he’s just being a normal BT.

besides, what will happen if you find out that this whole thing wasn’t true, and it was all a make believe just for the attention? oh, how embaressing…

we gotta learn how to chill. what’s all the “raash” about? just because the guy is famous you care more about what he does then what the guy down the street does? oh, maybe you also make nasty comments about the man down the block… well, then i can’t help you.

leave me alone, it’s the best thing not to have to go through a closet and havta decide what to wear every day, and how to dress for events etc.

i see the torture the girls go through, so i thank hashem “shlo osani isha” but now that i’m in yeshivah and have no choice abt what shirt i want to wear, the black and white uniform suits me well…

and i’m serous now: i need normal ideas for normal people

if you want a quick, easy and delcious one pot supper:

in a deep frying pan or short pot, cut up onion into quarters, and put in chicken bottoms coated in paprika and spices FACE DOWN. add a little bit of water to the pot, cut in potato chunks, sprinkle salt across the whole pot and cook for roughly an hour and fifteen minutes. watch it cuz it burns in no time.

it’s yummy and not fancy and edible and filling and smells great and is healthy. add veggies on the side or serve a veggie salad. my wife serves it in a plate with mini apple turnovers. YUM!

ive got 2 cousins in it. they love it. one of them did expirience some anti semitisim and the other one is in the 66th pcnt. and loves it cuz it’s close to home, and helps protect borough park, so he likes it.

agav, before you become a polic officer, make sure you yourself abide to all the laws… i don’t like hypocrites.

i didn’t read the rest of the posts, so i might be repeating someone elses ideals, but i believe, if you look at them objectively, never mind the yeshivah part. as colleges, YU is on a high standard and a little less heimish. touro has all types from chassidish and down that makes it more hiemish, even though there are plenty of not heimishe there, but youll find more of them in yu.

it’s unbelievable how NO ONE complains about the rain in e”y. they learned to gain an appreciation for it. zahavasdad – you should think about it. i agree the rain has affects (especially on my mood) but what would we do without it????????????????

its all about the situation around and around. Are there men roaming around? Will the bike riding etc. Bring holelus? Will it be an attraction for all who are passing by? If the answer to all of the above is negative then if its something that’s ok in Ur circles then my pleasure, go ahead. I view it as a geder not to come to aveirah.

funny, i was thinking the same thing!

they should make it semi private. part of it should be regulated by the federal gov. and there shouldn’t be a competition, and it should stay a well paid job, but should be more organized…. he, what would the country look like if they asked me? obviously it wouldn’t work

on 9/11/2001 i was in e”y, and i broke my hand. we were sitting in the dr.’s office and waiting (for hours). the TV was on in the waiting room and, “lucky me”, got to see the second plane crash and got to feel along with the panic and confusion.

in reply to: Better Girls Than Boys?? #806740

i didn’t read the other posts so i might be repeatative, but this is the way i look at it:

it takes a lot more from a boy to be a good boy then for a girl to qualify as a good girl.

we expect sooooo much of the boys, and don’t like to compromise on anything.

as for the girls, we don’t expect anything rather it’s either she’s a good girl or not.

what does good in a boy mean? well rounded in every aspect

what does good in a girl mean? well rounded in every aspect

the difference is in the aspects.

boys have musts. the girls don’t

that’s what always makes me wonder why those are the ones considered good boys!!!!

if they’re learning but their prioreties are mixed up, then what’s going on?

i understand that one needs money to live life, but isn’t it supposed to be “pas bmelach tochal, umayim bamsura tishte, val hooretz tishan vchayey tzaar tichye?”

i understand that’s not the most pleasent way to live, but what don’t we do for torah????????

so if these guys NEED the money so badly, what’s wrong with them?

i recently had the same sheilah while on vacation. i assumed, like you that there was nothing wrong. when i got back, i had a shmuez with my rav, and i asked him about it, and he said that the shailah isn’t a shailah of “tevilas keilim” for machine parts, but rather if the parts were washed in warm water with “treif Keilim” and for that some are “somech” that the dishwashing detergent is good enough to say it’s “plitah”.

Bottom Line: ask your rabbi, but there are those that are “machmir” with this

lemayseh, they are here to help us. but it’s a chessed org. so poshut pshat is that we should only use them when we need a favor and wouldn’t call a professional for help. l’mashal: flat tire – you’re not managing very well and yourself it might take you a couple of hours , so you call your friend/brother/neighbor for help and no one’s available, so you call chaveirim. i think that’s fine.

but if you have a flood in your basement and really you’d call the plumber, but why should you spend yiddish gelt on it, so you call chaveirim….

this can mean many things and can be defined differently by many. now, i happen to be a female that’s very tomboyish.

being girly as i understand it to be:

cries for every little thing, very emotional, very moody, gets crazy over certain things, very “pitchetchy” as they would say… and if i may say, i see why the guys hate it…
