all oberlander/hungarian rabbonim do this minhag whenever they give an official drasha in front of a tzibbur.

I also remember at some of the drashos given in Mir Yerushalayim the darshan was wearing a tallis but I dont remeber which drashos those were.

At first it seemed pretty suspicious to me too that he doesn’t write his name. But I learned that his reasoning is that he knowsthat what he is saying is emes and “kach haemes mmi shamro”. (to avoid people not reading it due his or their affiliations).

    Feivel-

The author of Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh is Harav Itamar Schwartz from Eretz Yisroel.

He happened to have been in New York Two weeks ago and held many drashos.

It may be interesting to note that he has many extremely warm haskamos from all different types of gedolim.

You can see & hear shiurim from him on the web at bilvavi.net

I thought I would be spared of reading about the inyan of molestation which although it must be taken care of immediately and effectively, there must be a better place to do it than the internet ( a click away from Shiol Tachtis)

You have to drei zich in the right places. There are plenty of groups of chassidishe yidden who despise truly olam hazeh and yearn with their heart and soul for kirvas elokim. Im tvakshenah Kazahav… (my boss is coming)

It may be interesting to note that all the gedolim that are currently being criticized here, were totally immersed in Torah and steeped in Kedusha in the most amazing way. (They did not spend their days arguing in the Yeshiva World Cofee Room). We ought to be more careful what we say

I (as a staunch follower of the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZY”A) find it important to let everyone out there know that I have personally witnessed many aspects of Harav Belsky Shlita’s gadlus. But above all is his acts of chesed.R’ Belsky goes out of his way to help every and any yid in any way possible. But what is more amazing is the chesed that he does with people belonging to groups that he strongly opposes (e.g. Lubavitch). This is a siman that all his acts are lshem shamayim, and therefore it is not proper for us to speak of him disrespectfully.

I think what Shloime meant by the example of the drowning woman was why it was mutar for him in his kiruv work to break these gedarim but itwas not a heter for the klal.

By the way his stories are gevaldig.

To the one who said that we should keep our eyes in the siddur not on people’s feet – that’s a little hard when a boy is standing next to you with neon yellow crocs (maaseh shehayah)

As is with everything else ,the bungalow colony situation could be used for the good or the bad. There are many batei medrashim where supper is sreved at a nominal fee afterwhich all the baalei batim proceed to the beis medrash to learn (e.g. Bobov – you can come see it for yourself). As far as the wives are concerned I know (first hand) of colony where the ladies get together and learn Chafetz Chaim & say Tehilim – you can imagine how the shmoozing that ensues afterward takes on a totally different picture. All this is in the zechus of one lady who had the courage to institute this wonderful idea.
