coffee addict and golfer its much more than $$$ if they see a real petition of 100000 ppl protesting their actions and get the media to cover it like that it can do a lot. @Citified Horav Mattasyahu used the opportunity to address the topic but back then most of us didn’t see it happening so we did nothing about it.

i don”t see whats political about trying to do our part in saving the Torah, it seems you don’t understand the gravity of the situation we are facing. and no we cant sit back and enjoy a Torah celebration when Torah is at risk, all those that will attend the Siyum hashas understand the value of Torah.

Golfer you actually wrote it very very well, yes Heimish is not a bad thing at all i love heimish yeshivish, heimish chasidish, or heimish modern, But the other heimish ALONE is not enough, a cool heimish person that drives a SUV and has long peyos down behind his ears with sunglasses etc.. that you may want to call a TUNA BEIGEl, Heimish can be the most eidil nice people (Tuna beigels may also be but are diffrent)

Email i received as an answer to the question from a big shadchan that claims to deal with the heimishe crowd:

chasidish = you have a rebbi either alive or not and follow their minhagim and Mesorah.

Yeshivish = you have a rosh yeshiva either alive or not and follow their minhagim and Mesorah.

Heimish = i can do what ever i want i don’t need to follow chasidims minhagim because we are only “heimish” and we are not either yeshivish.

there is a phenomenal of yeshivash heimish or modern heimsh that would mean chasidic background and some chasidush minhagim.

    [clarification needed]

[41] For selected games, SeaStreak provides ferry service between Highlands, New Jersey and the stadium. Both ferry services use the slips at the World’s Fair Marina, located approximately a quarter of a mile north of Citi Field. The park is also close to several major thoroughfares, including the Grand Central Parkway, the Whitestone/Van Wyck Expressway, the Long Island Expressway, Roosevelt Avenue and Northern Boulevard.

Citi Field is adjacent to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where the annual US Open grand-slam tennis tournament is held.

Since the construction of Citi Field began, satellite parking lots in Flushing Meadow Park (access from College Point Boulevard) have been opened.

Are Electronic Cigarettes Healthy? A Way To Smoke Nicotine Without Tobacco?

ADP) — It’s what many smokers are calling a “miracle technological breakthrough.” But, could making the switch to electronic cigarettes really change your life?

    January 24, 2012

The use of electronic cigarettes has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. Creators and product users now say you can enjoy a cheaper healthier cigarette without the bad smells, second-hand smoke, or cancer causing chemicals. With these huge claims, we decided to investigate e-cigarette use amongst users.

After providing multiple electronic cigarette kits to our test group, we received shocking results. First we found that product users did actually save money. The claim from e-cigarette manufactures is that smokers who make the switch can save over $1,000 per year. We found that the actual cost of smoking for our test group was nearly cut in half.

Many doctors are now recommending the product and Dr. Panariello told us that with E-Cigs there is virtually no risk of getting cancer. These conclusions come from studies which show that nicotine is about as equally harmful to your health as caffeine. These studies also show that the real harm in traditional cigarettes comes from the tobacco smoke and the hundreds of additional added chemicals.

With the lack of second-hand smoke, smokers are excited to find that many businesses allow them to smoke e-cigarettes indoors. Many have also received special permission from their employers to smoke e-cigarettes in the work place.

In the United States, over 500,000 smokers have already switched to electronic cigarettes. Sara Silk is one of the many whose life has dramatically changed thanks to the product. She informed us that she “smoked almost two packs a day for 16 years,” and she thought that she would never quit. To her surprise though, when she tried electronic cigarettes she was able to “quit smoking regular cigarettes two days later.” Sara told us, “I recommend this product to anyone who plans on quitting. Unlike gum or patches you actually feel like you’re still smoking, which makes the transition so much easier… I feel like the chains of my addiction have finally been broken for good.”

We have received a number of positive testimonials such as this one and we feel that as more and more Americans are made aware of this new technology, that more and more smokers will make the switch.

Electronic cigarettes can be used with real nicotine cartridges or with zero nicotine to facilitate the ease of quitting for users desiring to do so. Our interviews and research have found that the electronic cigarette will quickly become the #1 choice for smokers looking to lead a healthier lifestyle. With the high cost of smoking traditional cigarettes, and with the danger cigarettes bring to your health, we give our recommendation and “thumbs up” to anyone looking to give these devices a try.

Overall user feedback for this new product has been very positive.

    Money isn’t everything

It can buy a house, but not a home.

It can buy a bed, but not sleep.

It can buy a clock, but not time.

It can buy you a book, but not knowledge.

It can buy you a position, but not respect.

It can buy you medicine, but not health.

It can buy you blood, but not life.

So you see, money isn’t everything…

I tell you all this because I am your friend, and as your friend I want to take away

    your pain and suffering

… so send me all your money, and I will suffer for you.

A truer friend than me you will never find…

Since our report last week about a possible school shortage in town for next year, LakewoodLocal spoke to an askan involved who provided an update for the upcoming school year. Plans and talks are being held with a group of parents, who have turned to the Skverer Dayan Shlita. As of now it looks like Skver may open a talmud torah for the upcoming year.

you are right that If my child was in the class & was unable to go to school any other way, most ppl would give their home but we are a year ahead so why should the issue not be tackled correctly?

Also, why can’t you go up to 29?

the answer is i once a asked a rebbi is there a difference between a class of 25 kids or 26 kids, he gave me a look ill never forget and said “i see u do not begin to understand what it means to teach kids, do u understand that i must teach each child Alef Bais” yes each additional child takes away the rebbis ability to teach the other children fully.
