And no…everyone has a unique way of writing and personality shows up with every word they type, whether they type it correctly or not…as long as it is possible to understand what they are saying then let them say it however they want to.

Just went Snowboarding in Vermont for the second time this winter, and I must say snowboarding is hard but once you get the hang of it (like after 5 or so times)it is really fun

I agree in essence, and having grown up in an “out of town” community I was always very tolerant and politically correct. That pretty much went out the window when I came to “town” and being in a neighborhood where the crime rate is almost as bad as the graduation rate has not been conducive to tolerance. I think it has to end at some point. If I was in this neighborhood and hadn’t experienced the acts that these “people” perform then it would be one thing. I have been mugged once, my car broken into, and lets not forget my dorm being held up and hundreds of dollars stolen from my friends. At a certain point these “people” don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore. People should not be judged by outer appearances and I have no problem with people who become successful in life and contribute to society, but when they are getting benefits akin to a salary to the point that it isn’t worth it to find a job it just becomes ridiculous. I don’t condone racism, I merely condone realism.

Just to start off, I read this entire thread from start to finish (very entertaining during class) and I think this is the greatest thread ever. Dr. Pepper has made many a boring class seem not so bad.

Anyways, a story my friend told me: After much research and pushing by the shadchan he decided to go out with a certain girl. When he pulled up by the girls house there were 2 girls outside waiting for him. When they noticed the confused look on his face they said in unison “now you have to choose one of us and whichever one you choose that’s the one you have to go out with”. Not sure how long they were rehearsing this but he didn’t think it was very funny, but being the good sport he is he decided to play along. I guess he managed to somehow convey his lack of amusement at the situation and the girl he was supposed to go out with spoke up and they went out. Didn’t work out though.

Idk, I think that’s pretty funny but he sure didn’t.

moskidoodle…actually swag does not at all come from inside…its all about what you wear and how you carry yourself…and seriously? girls hate guys wearing pink?!? thats a little extreme i think…and no way my wife is going shopping for my clothes..unless I’m there and making sure i like what she buys or she knows me well enough to know EXACTLY what I like and more importantly what I dont like

ill tell you why most yeshiva guys have no problem smoking ….a good answer for everyone that is wondering…almost every yeshiva guy smoking now thinks/knows that he is going to quit before he starts dating/gets married wtvr but would never dream of smoking when they are married and have kids…i personally dont understand how people can smoke while they are married, it kills you and others, etc etc but actually quitting is a whole other story..when they realize that it is harder to quit then they thought…. that is where the problems begin…the fact is that it is very hard to quit…everyone knows that…i dont have a solution..but i hopefully gave you a little insight into why guys smoke in the first place

how did you edit the post to mean chofetz chaim guys in general when you said “such as yourself”…and why is everyone hating on guys wearing pink socks..the example i gave of bright pink socks is a little extreme i’ll admit but pink doesnt have to be a female color…now people may get the wrong impression…so without going into details that may not be appropriate for this forum i dont like pink thaaaaaat much…if you catch my drift

in reply to: Ask the opposite gender #989326

i didnt mean people who are militantly against white shirts…i meant people who most definitely wear white shirts likovod shabbos but wouldnt dream of it during the week…some are bishita against white shirts meaning a person has something against wearing white shirts themselves it might be out of ignorance but more commonly they are at a point in their lives where they want to express themselves…and there are not a whole lot of ways to express oneself for a guy…if the dude is in yeshiva then he is doing the right thing and whether he wears a colored shirt he learns just as well as his white shirted counterpart

ooooo actually i do have a question…what do girls think about guys wearing pink? socks, shirts, ties, etc. but back to socks…do girls think its weird for guys to wear colorful, “wacky” socks like an extreme example would be bright pink socks

haha quite perceptive…but why must a chofetz chaim guy have questions for girls?

white shirts are boring! add some color and personality…i wear colorful and crazy socks everyday…people need a way to express themselves…also interjection…people sometimes do switch to exclusively white shirts…in my yeshiva guys sometimes start wearing white shirts after they get married

in reply to: Ask the opposite gender #989301

well put…although i think i might want to revise or add to what i said before…if a girl wants to only go out with guys who wear white shirts that can maybe sometimes be ok. If that is truly what they are looking for and that is the way they have been brought up then so be it. who are we to tell them not to…on the other hand a better way to go about it would be requesting guys from only a certain yeshiva or social group…but in the end the only thing that matters is that people understand that if you’re in yeshiva and learning as much as you can then you can be a good person too..even if you beshita don’t wear white shirts
