GRIDLOCK IN JERUSALEM: Tens Of Thousands Stranded Following Peleg Protests

The streets in Yerushalayim are literally gridlock, following the Peleg protests on Thursday.

Dozens upon dozens of buses have been emptied and are sitting vacant on streets.

These attached two photos were taken moments ago (at 8:15PM IL) on Yechezkel Street. One can see the long line of buses, as people try walking to their destinations instead of using the mass transportation system.

Hundreds of thousands of Israelis were inconvenienced on Thursday as the Peleg carried out their promise of a “day of rage” following the arrest of two Peleg Bochrim. They were arrested for failing to register for the draft, in line with instructions from Hagaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach.

As of today, the fourth day of protests, more than 100 protesters have been arrested. As was expected, nine of those arrested for blocking streets, were also charged with evading the draft – as they have never signed up.

  1. where are the groise roshei yeshiva to speak out against this
or do they all agree to it?
or are they scared of the peleg terrorists?

  2. Isn’t it time to stop acting nicely to this group of frum vandals?

My wife needed to visit my daughter who was in Shaarey Tzedek and was unable to go their today neither by light rail, bus or cab.

Once we had erhlicht people who were frum; today not only are the yeshiva men vandals, but the people sending them out to protest are also vandals for causing such massive problems.

Terrible times when ‘torah’ is presented by such evil people.

  3. Rabbonim cant say anything as Peleg is a cult! And when people are trapped in a cult they’ll listen to no one!
This is a massive chillul Hashem!!

  4. I have no idea of the details on the two sides
However Dan likaf zechus demands that you they the. Issue from the others perspective.
The chazon ish said it is for real yehareg vial yaavor to allow girls to go to the Israeli army.
That doesn’t sit well with you? Too bad. Spend your life giving your all for hashems torah then you can give your opinion.
    Same here
If R S A feels it is imperative not to sign up because it is subtle shmad then yes. They are correct to close down the whole country. You don’t agree? Wonderful
When you be on his level you can argue
    Till then too bad
Some things in life are actually important
Like fighting for the right to remain ,frum, in Israel

  5. @Klugeryid protests only work when there’s a democratic system. the mere fact that they can protest is proof that there’s no “shmad”. Besides calling it shmad is a terrible zilizul in the thousands of yidden who thruout the ages chose to die al kiddush hashem rather than realy shmad themselves to christianity.
The fact is that not a single bochur was ever forced to join the army. The only ones who get arrested are those who refuse to get a p’tor (deferement)…. so this whole shamd thing is baloney….

  6. But Klugeryid, what happened to peaceful demonstrations with the Rabbis up front, and yYddim crying with tears in their eyes for mercy from Hashem to overcome the decree???
Who is complaining about Reb Shmuel???
What is being complained about is in how these demonstrations are not being done in how the previous demonstrations have taken in the past.
    Violence is not our way.
Davening with tears is our way.
