PHOTOS: Hundreds Attend “Pidyon Peter Chamor” In Monsey


A large pidyon peter chamor event took place on Thursday, Chol Hamoed outside the Evergreen Monsey Supermarket. The event was attended by hundreds of people from all over the tri-state area. The donkey was born the Sunday before Yom Kippur on the Camp Nageela Farm.

Camp Nageela, a division of JEP of Long Island, is a sleep away camp that has introduced over 3,000 Jewish children to Yiddishkeit over the last 30 years. B”H many hundreds of its campers have become bnei Torah. JEP-LI conducts programs for these children throughout the year. The camp is located in Fallsburg, NY, just a few hundred feet past the four corners, on the Dovid & Suri Schwartz Jewish Experience Center campus. Additionally, the center also hosts many yeshivos and organization shabbatons throughout the winter.
