The Jerusalem Religious Council has released tenders for the construction of new mikvaos in the capital, in areas that have been reestablished by young pioneers. The new mikvaos will be constructed in areas including Maale Zeitim near Har HaZeisim as well as Nof Tzion near Jabil Mukhaber. There are areas that are predominately occupied by Arabs but B”H the Jewish population continues to increase.
Officials in the religious council explain the decision was based on the big picture, more than assisting the families of these communities, but in the hope of strengthening the Jewish presence in these areas of Yerushalayim.
