Jewish Youth with Tefilin Evades Police And Enters Har Habayis

hhaA Jewish youth wearing tefilin on the morning of Tisha B’Av 5775 evaded police at the checkpoint and managed to enter the holy site with the tefilin on. Police confronted him and instructed him to return to the police booth at the entrance to Har Habayis. The young man refused and was taken by force.

The young man was then placed under arrest and taken to the police station at the Kosel.

Police stress they will continue maintaining the religious status quo on Har Habayis and while visits by Jews continue, acts of provocation will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Har Habayis was closed to non-Muslim visitors later in the day.

It is added that Gedolei Yisrael throughout the generations have ruled one may not visit Har Habayis. This is the ruling of Gedolei Yisrael today as well, in addition to being the position of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

  1. Hillul Hashem. Where are the so-called “Religious” leaders to stop this? Why they can demonstrate when their are $ cuts to them, yet have no problem with the Hillul Hashem on our Holy Temple, the House of Hashem where avodah zara and the false religion shows itself to be “superior” to Our G-D !

  2. Why was he wearing Tefilin on Tisha Bi’Av morning? The Halacha clearly states that on Tisha Bi’Av, Tefilin should only be worn in the afternoon.

  3. Oh, so the Israeli police are enforcing the Torah’s halocha! That’s great news! Will it be across the board or only select issurim and mitzvos!
    LOL
