isil08:26AM IL: A gag order has been lifted on a motzei Shabbos parshas Lech Lecha incident in which an Israeli Arab used a paraglider to cross the border to Syria to join ISIS.

The man in question is reportedly a 23-year-old resident of Jaljulia.

The incident led to a behind-the-scenes media buzz on motzei Shabbos, including rumors on social media and WhatsApp that an Israeli was abducted and that Syrian media has blacked out an incident. There were reports of an Israeli plane being shot down.

On motzei Shabbos, not knowing what the man’s intentions were, a major military operation was launched, a search involving ground and aerial forces.

Officials on Sunday morning 12 Cheshvan report that the Israeli Arab male flew over the border on his own to join the terrorist state. ISIS reports the man was captured and remains in custody.
