Bank Robbery On Avenue J In Flatbush

The Apple Bank on Avenue J and East 14th Street was robbed moments ago, our affiliate FlatbushScoop.com reports. There is a large NYPD response, and a Level 1 Mobilization has been requested by the 70 precinct.

The suspect is reported to be a white male approximately 40-50 years old. He was wearing a hat, a blue jacket, and had long breezy hair. He did not display any weapon, and demanded money. He was given approximately $500 cash, and was not given a ”dye-pack”.

The suspect reportedly fled in a white sedan, along with two other suspects, southbound on East 14th Street.

In the past few years, there have been a few other bank robberies on that same street.

Some of those include:

In December of 2008, YWN reported that the Vally national Bank on Avenue J and East 15th Street was robbed.

July 3rd 2008 the Sovereign Bank was held up on Avenue J [reported HERE on YWN]

November 8th 2007 there was a bank robbery on Avenue J and East 13th Street [reported HERE on YWN]

On October 18th 2007 the Washington Mutual Bank on Avenue J & Coney Island Avenue was held up [reported HERE on YWN]

  1. where are our congressmen councilmen etc why are so many robberies taking placing with no reaction from our politicians? something clearly needs to be done to address this growing problem! perhaps YWN can contact Simcha Felder or whoever district it is and ask them why nothing is being done to address this

  2. There is a reason why TD Bank has not been robbed yet. That is because all TD bank locations have an armed NYPD officer standing at the front door.

  3. Funny how it’s considered so commonplace that I was there at 2:30 and that block was totally quiet. Not a police anywhere in sight, less than an hour later.
