Koach Binaya: A Building Force in Karnei Shomron

mail.jpgBenaya Rhein was killed in the last Lebanon war, but his memory lives on in Hatzolah Israel’s Karnei Shomron branch. Benaya, a resident of Karnei Shomron, spent his life helping others and died doing the same. Now, Benaya’s parents, Hagit and Shimon, have dedicated life-saving equipment to Hatzolah Israel in Benaya’s memory so that his legacy of helping people lives on.

Many people gathered in the Beit Habad in Karnei Shomron last night to show their solidarity with the Rhein family and to offer their support to Hatzolah Israel. Participants included local community leaders, esteemed rabbis and IDF representatives.

The evening began with a moving film about Benaya and his many accomplishments in his short life.  Many in the audience fought to keep back their tears as they heard Benaya’s friends talk about the wonderful things he did for his friends and colleagues.

The tears of sadness turned to tears of hope as 25 volunteers joined the latest Karnei Shomron Hatzolah Israel team, now called “Koach Benaya”.  Advanced resuscitation equipment was presented to the Koach Benaya team, along with burnshields, mirs communication systems, and ID vests.  In addition, Koach Benaya also received life-packs, as well as two ambucycles.

The evening was made possible by the Rhein family, in conjunction with the tireless efforts of Shlomi Hazut, branch leader of Hatzolah Israel in the Shomron.
