B’tselem Wants the IDF Held Accountable for Civilian Deaths in Gaza

The IDF has completed its investigation into Monday’s deaths of a Gaza mother and four children. After a powerful explosion killed the five, the Palestinian Authority was quick to accuse Israel, reporting a stray IDF tank shell killed the family.

Shortly following the incident, the IDF released a statement that there was no tank fire in the Beit Hanoun area, promising an investigation.

That investigation has since revealed that terrorists carrying explosives outside the home caused the blast and the deaths, not the IDF.

Nevertheless, the radical left-wing B’tselem Human Rights organization is demanding the government launch yet another investigation, determined to place the blame on the shoulders of the IDF. Spokespersons for the organization make no mention of the painful reality that Gaza-based terrorist intentionally base themselves in the midst of a densely population civilian communities, a reality that yields the tragic results seen on Monday.
