Police working with health inspectors in Bnei Brak on Monday cracked down on businesses operating without a business license. During the operation, hundreds of bottles of pirated whiskies were found. The bottles were confiscated and taken to a Ministry of Health lab for analysis. The owners of the business were detained for questioning.
Health officials point out that all too often, the whisky knockoffs are dangerous, at times potentially fatal, as their alcohol content is far too high and ingesting the product does pose a health hazard.
