Israel: Tnuva Recall of 5 Percent Cream Cheese with Salmon and Onion


Fearing a possible infection of the Listeria gram positive bacteria, which can have a 25% fatality rate among people ingesting infected food, Tnuva has issued a recall of 5% cream cheese with salmon and onion.

It appears the cream cheese with an expiration date of 31.10.08 was produced on a production line which may have become infected by the Listeria bacteria. Tnuva cooperative officials’ report they are talking about a total of 80 containers of the cheese distributed north of Zichron Yaakov.

Anyone who suspects they may have purchased an infected container of the cheese is urged to phone Tnuva at 1-800-666-244.
