Esther was on her way home in Tiveria on Tuesday when suddenly, an extremely large section of the tree broke away, landing on her, crushing her. Emergency workers encountered considerable difficulties extricating her from under the tree. She was in critical condition and R”L pronounced dead in the emergency room of Poriah Hospital. It took rescue workers 90 minutes to get her out from under the tree.

Danny, her husband, was horrified upon receiving the news, shouting “the entire family is gone, we are ruined. We raised four wonderful children and four grandchildren Baruch Hashem, and now, my wife of 30 years is gone”.

According to MDA Yarden District Chief Eli Yarden, Mrs. Levy sustained serious cranial and thoracic trauma.

  2. We mortals never know when our time is up in this world; what a sad story. I also wish comfort to her entire family and all of klal Yisroel. Boruch Dayan HaEmes.

  3. Sometimes a soldier can go through a whole war without getting even a scratch, and sometimes a grandmother walking down the street can be killed by a falling tree. We can never know what HaSh-m’s plans are, but one thing is clear. The time to do t’shuva is today, not tomorrow.
