Scuffle Between Residents & Civil Administration Inspectors at Beit Aryeh

It appears the resistance exhibited by residents of areas in Yehuda and Shomron on Tuesday has set the stage for the future regarding the inspectors from the IDF Civil Administration as they try to distribute stop-construction orders.

The scene at Beit Aryeh and Ofarim in western Shomron on Wednesday morning was one of resistance, leading to a scuffle. At least one resident is believed to have sustained a fractured leg, although this is unconfirmed at the time of this report. Residents report the fracture is the result of police beating him unjustifiably.

Dozens of residents were on hand to greet and prevent police and inspectors from entering the community.

Community leader Avi Naim complained of “chest pain” and he was treated by a Magen David Adom EMS team. It appears Naim was also placed under arrest.

The two neighboring communities reside under one municipal authority, and they are home to over 900 families.
