Sunday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Forecasters are predicting a sharp change in the weather, expecting a winter rainstorm beginning on Sunday night, to last for a day or two, including hail and snow accumulations in high elevation areas. 50-100 millimeters of rain are expected, along with floods in susceptible areas.

**Indictments are expected to be handed down on Sunday afternoon against a number of Ayalon district policemen involved in the alleged beating of an Arab prisoner. At this time, it appears four policemen are to be indicted.

**A new Chinuch Atzmai school was dedicated in Sderot on Sunday morning, permitting the school to leave its caravan structure.

**Four people were killed in a head-on collision near Kibbutz Ba’ari in S. Israel on Sunday morning. Nine people were killed on the nation’s roads since motzei shabbos until 1:00pm Sunday. The fatal accidents occurred during sunny weather conditions.
