  1. It would appear that the letter is not just in reference to Meron, but also in regards to all the Lag Ba’Omer fires that take place across the width and breadth of Artzeinu Hakodeshah.

  2. YW-for all your OUTOFTOWN readers that dont read ivrit or yiddish, can you please provide a brief transalatzia?

  3. Some of us outoftowners do read ivrit, in our yeshiva ketanas and day schools there used to be a grade subject called ivris-ivrit.

  4. It just says that communities have to be careful that no one is mechalel shabbos in preparing for bonfires since lag b’omer falls on motzei shabbos. They are saying that no communities should have bonfires before 9:00 to avoid this.

Not bad for an out of towner, eh 😉 .

The day Schools still teach IVRIT. further,

Some of us did learn IVRIT – not ivris – and can make out the intent of letter.

what a shame some of our boys can not.

it is nice though that the bais yaakovs do teach IVRIT> our daughters can read the letter and translate to their IVRIT – challenged husbands.

  6. Also, as a public service: Tu Bishvat has nothing to do with Tootie Frootie candy. It is a Hebrew acronym for the 15th day of Shevat.

    Okay?

    🙂

  7. Outoftown: My Tati heard from his Rebbe, that yidden should not shreib Shem Hashem without a makaf. That’s why you should have written “transalatzi-a”.
