☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
If they won’t listen to an anonymous poster, why would they implement it?
December 8, 2015 2:03 pm at 2:03 pm in reply to: Obligation to read/listen to advertisements? #1115197☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWolf, is hakaras hatov an obligation? Does it apply here? I think it’s a very valid question, and I don’t know why you pretty much dismissed it.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMatan1, old man, when I say, “what came from him”, I don’t primarily mean his descendants. Thank you, american_yerushalmi.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantPresumably, you would advertise to get people to buy your product or service.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhy don’t you just say that they should always follow protocol? Or at least when the vehicle was manufactured after 2007 (in a MVA, average the years)?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you’re basing your approach on statistics which specifically distinguish between cars and SUVs and pickup trucks, you had better be more specific.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI’m saying that Moses Mendelsohn was not reform.
Yet, look what came from him.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAre you trying to say that MO is on its way to becoming reform???
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMore like 100% inaccurate.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYour OP was about a car accident, not a vehicle accident.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAccording to IIHS, there were actually more deaths from multiple-car accidents than single-car accidents in 2013, 6,975 to 5,664.
Not that it should affect treatment (or even diagnosis).
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAvi, the other tzad would also agree. You don’t need a kal vachomer. The headline and opening paragraph were just a teaser to get people to read the article, but no real shaychus.
Pizza was a reference to Mendelssohn. I assume you mean the famous Boro Park pizzeria, because you surely wouldn’t care what Moses Mendelssohn has to say about hashkafa.
November 29, 2015 2:34 pm at 2:34 pm in reply to: How do you shecht a giraffe when your heart is black? #1114132☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCh”v, you misjudge my intentions.
It’s a mistaken association which has been made numerous times (not by you) and I just wanted to point it out.
I don’t know why you think it was unrelated to your put down of Joseph.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNo, sorry. I was also joking (that the trailer itself was made in Detroit).
I do remember seeing the truck you’re referring to, but don’t know how to track him down.
November 29, 2015 10:52 am at 10:52 am in reply to: How do you shecht a giraffe when your heart is black? #1114130☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantmy guess is that we do not have a single thought, belief or ideal in common. which i don’t think you can say for you and moishele
My guess is that you have many thoughts, ideals, and beliefs in common. I think you both believe in Hashem and His Torah, think it is important to be nice to people, think it is important to keep Shabbos and kashrus, etc. You also surely disagree about important ideals and beliefs.
My point, of course, is that you can’t judge someone negatively because they share some thought, beliefs and ideals with an individual you find despicable.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNo, I’m saying that the poskim weren’t addressing a situation where the concern was letting in people with intent to kill as many people as they can.
What does pizza have to do with this?
November 29, 2015 12:43 am at 12:43 am in reply to: changing neighborhoods and anti-semitism #1136205☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBut if its the Judaism that they dont like, because they hate the Torah and religion in general lehavdeel, thats antisemetic.
The Nazis y”sh didn’t differentiate between levels of religiosity. Were they not antisemitic?
You’re making distinctions which are not important. Racism and hatred based on lifestyle (when the lifestyle is not inherently wrong) are based on the same negative character traits and have the same types of results.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThat song was in a CD called “L’vaker B’heicholo” by Abish Brodt. It was included in the Mishpacha Magazine Succos edition a couple of years ago. As I recall, in the section about the recording, they espoused several theories, but weren’t sure.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNo, I b”H comprehend very well. I read the article, not just the title. Yes, they’re both about refugees, but the halachic discussion within really has nothing to do with current events.
November 28, 2015 11:06 pm at 11:06 pm in reply to: changing neighborhoods and anti-semitism #1136199☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI admit it, I want to live among frum Jews. Guilty. If it were up to me, every family on my block would be an orthodox Jew.
So why then is it wrong for people to not want to live next to frum jews.
One is a positive and one is a negative, as newbee pointed out earlier in the post.
November 28, 2015 11:05 pm at 11:05 pm in reply to: changing neighborhoods and anti-semitism #1136198☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantJews are not a race, so it cant be racism.
Mere semantics. It’s the same negative trait.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, is hatred of frum Jews acceptable? Who cares what it’s called?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBy #4, do you mean Esav sonei es Yaakov? I think it’s more than that. It’s also good old fashioned racism, whereby people dislike people who are different than them. That’s an unpleasant part of human nature, but not supernatural. There are also what people call “self-hating” Jews, which is mostly a guilty conscience dealt with through hatred.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNewbee, in theory it might be fine to establish communities geared towards particular cultures, but I believe the OP was referring to areas which were not originally established for that purpose, but the people who ended up living there now want to keep others different from them out.
ZD, the reason they are against the eruv is purely to keep out frum Yidden.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAutonomy to not be ruled by the invaders.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThat’s kind of what New Square and Kiryas Yoel are, but to the best of my knowledge, it can’t be official policy.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMy understanding is that they weren’t given the reservations so that they can preserve their culture, but to give them the autonomy which was unjustly taken from them.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo to you, this discussion is merely hypothetical?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAt this point in time, do the reservations serve that purpose, or are they just vehicles to sell gambling and cigarettes without tax?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThey’re not the ones trying to keep Yidden out.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWho says popa’s not a professional?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, no.
Ubiquitin, correct, and to compare it to ??????? ??? ????? which was given to us by the ???”? is ridiculous.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRich WASP culture? It’s by definition a culture of snobbishness and not wanting undesirables.
Either way, you really can’t compare it to ??????? ??? ?????.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow can you compare ??????? ??? ????? to the Hamptons??
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDetroit
November 27, 2015 7:06 am at 7:06 am in reply to: How do you shecht a giraffe when your heart is black? #1114114☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBTW, there’s currently (until Nov. 30 ’15) a promotion on Amazon. Use code HOLIDAY30 for a nice discount.
November 27, 2015 6:55 am at 6:55 am in reply to: How do you shecht a giraffe when your heart is black? #1114113☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI can’t help you with getting it for free, but you asked for a book by a legitimate author saying that there’s something wrong with music composed by a non-Jew, and that’s one.
November 27, 2015 6:36 am at 6:36 am in reply to: How do you shecht a giraffe when your heart is black? #1114108☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAre you sure you put that in the right thread? Did you mean to put it here?
(It doesn’t really fit there either, but at least it seems a bit related.)
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNorthbrook
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMedinah (Illinois)
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHealth, so lets ask Joseph if I have a beard, and if that’s even possible.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI’m wondering if everyone would agree that the proper treatment would be cognitive behavioral therapy.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participanti don’t think it was even a machlokes.
All of his personalities agreed?
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant(or perhaps he’s joking)
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantand
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf Joseph’s right that I’m not bald, does that mean I don’t have hormones?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThen how do you explain Joseph?
November 26, 2015 10:40 pm at 10:40 pm in reply to: Legal Studies Student – Aspiring for Lawyer #1113876☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCTL, how do you deal with the amirah l’akum and s’char Shabbos issues?
November 26, 2015 6:09 pm at 6:09 pm in reply to: Legal Studies Student – Aspiring for Lawyer #1113871☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHe means after taxes.
