Why would it be? Is it Shiluach Haken to light Chanukah lights?

Doing a mitzvah, particularly in public, and particularly when it’s not comfortable, brings glory to Hashem’s name.

Sending away a mother bird does not ignite a menorah.

but you seem to be more interested in a hypothetical crazt flight attendant rather than in typical cases.

I’m just responding to the hypothetical case Avram mentioned.

You decided she’s a rasha or deranged. Maybe she’s just in a bad mood and/or thinks it’s rude that he won’t respond? It’s just a hypothetical story anyhow.

    Yet still you can’t/won’t answer.

I was actually teasing you because you do that all the time even where there’s no shaychus.

Look up my posts above and review references therein of multiple gedolim pointing various nekudos what can be inappropriate

That’s exactly what I’m talking about! You brought that in this discussion where it doesn’t belong.

If you are suggesting a Zeresh character

The story didn’t say she was a Zeresh character or deranged. There would presumably not be a way to know

The story didn’t describe any trace of an inappropriate action on the part of the frum couple. Why you inserted that is quite curious and perhaps informative.

Why can’t you don’t answer that in the story as presented, he made no chillul Hashem?

You don’t think it’s a kiddush Hashem to do a mitzvah?

I am saying that if there is a trace of inappropriate behavior in the man, that he is doing some aveira, however slight. Even if he is in a window seat.

He was davening. I guess you think that’s inappropriate if it’s not outdoors??

Please dont include situations where exceptions weren’t granted or the employees weren’t sensitive to religous tastes.

Why not? That would be the most likely form the antisemitism would take.

As Avira and Shimon pointed out, if someone is following the halacha properly, it a kiddush Hashem, not a chillul Hashem.

Halacha takes into consideration not to disturb people, etc, so TS Baum is totally missing the point when saying keeping the halacha can be a c”H.

The fact that AAQ can’t answer Avram’s question in a direct manner demonstrates that some people conflate kiddush Hashem with making goyim happy and/or not doing anything to embarrass frum Jews.

Although those frequently correlate, they are not synonymous, and if there is a conflict, following the halacha is ultimately the kiddush Hashem even if it looks strange and/or angers goyim, and violating Halacha is a chillul Hashem even if it seems to curry favor with goyim.

Why didn’t you make this same point when referencing the flag waving motorcades here: https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/affinity-for-donald-trump

Are loud motorcades ok for a goyish politician, but not for Chanukah?

    Chapped. 🔥🔥

I think both are wrong for the same reason, although arguably, the menorah has more of an upside.

As is well known, some of the popular frum singers have made albums that include a song “shelo asani goy”. Very nice. But why have none of them included a song shelo asani isha?

Why make a song which only applies to half of the population when you can make one which applies to everyone?

Naw, it’s too Cheap and the Pharmaceutical companies can’t make Billions!

    Also, it doesn’t work.

Other cheap repurposed drugs do work, so why are you pushing Ivermectin? If you have worms, by all means take Ivermectin, but otherwise it’s likely useless and potentially harmful.

I think halacha allows that as long as you are aware of the pricing. If you were to come in without doing market research and he would add the price without explaining, this would be wrong and you could demand it back if overcharge was more than 1/6 (20 percent of normal price)

There no ona’ah on real estate, and that’s what a room rental is.

if you have already caught Covid is there any benefit to vaccinate afterwards?

Yes, many people have gotten Covid a second time, but it is very rare for someone who had Covid, then got vaccinated, to get Covid again.

Whether it’s worth it is a different question; I think the opinions are divided on that.

I personally do not know anyone who was injured from them

In general, if someone is hurt by the antibodies infusion, it will be chalked up to the Covid, so you would rarely know.

In fact, the immune response is similar to that of a vaccine except that it’s more concentrated than the vaccine so any negative reaction would actually be stronger.

It’s just as untested as the vaccines, so the whole antivax argument goes out the window if the alternative is the more risky MaBs treatment.

I don’t understand the question. Is there some list of gedolim somewhere, written by Eliyahu Hanavi, which nobody can disagree with?
