I think at this point where people may actually facing road raid issues etc. it would be best to deny the problem completely and say hat it does not exist in our Torah world.This way we do not have to deal with it.
FYI this question came up at TU conventions years ago. Many in the Arei Hasadeh were complaining about the matzav of their children. When my shver who was a Rov in Connecticut had a child of school age he had to move to Brooklyn. My grandmother moved from Brownsville when my uncle graduated Chaim Berlin because there was no Mesivta available there so they had to run to Rav Rivkin in Williamsburg.

I think the representation about Waterbury and its shomer shabbos Jews needs clarification. For example the Sefardishe shul in Boro Park which was under the leadership of Rabbi Swift ( a posek) , Rabbi Marton, and eventually Reb Dovid Singer a Galtzianer illuy also had a shomer shabbos problem. Jews who wanted a Shomer Shabbos minyan organized the famous Shomer Shabbos shul which is now a 24 hour shul. Jews who had to work rachmono litzlan went to shul with bigdei Shabbat before work . The jury is out if they are Shomer Shabbat . Waterbury had big Rabbonim there as far as I know. Rabbi Harris, an accountant alav Hashalom is singularly responsible for the Yeshiva in Waterbury now.
The mayseh with Empire is about Harav Notelovitch and his kepel shechita. he was one of the biggest Rabbonim in Brownsville, like Reb Moshe Rosen z”l and Harav Tomashoff etc.
Hasidism , Reform and Zionism may be a clear issue for our Rabbanim . Each leader chose the derech that worked for them.There are those who are ambivalent to soldiers, those who embrace them and those who attack them . Same with Hasidism and Reformers. Some have Austritt and others do not. Just like Iyov, Yisro and Bilaam for example. Only today do Yisro and Bilaam fight each other. There were 4 groups at the Yam Suf as well. Rabbi YZM who was the chief Rabbi of Koenigsberg was a talmid of RAE. He was zoche to see the SA wandering and actually smacked him in mistaken identity. His Haksav Vehakabala created a new genre in parshanut connecting the 2 Torahs.
I disagree with K. The facts on the ground are that chasidic college kiruv organizations do use conservative professors on their Beis Din . Especially Ivy Leagues.

Quite a few RY in YU were from Telz. Like Dr BR and Harav Volk and so many more. Also Rav SS gave shiur for at least one zman. Now YU is essentially Brisk like all other Yeshivas.

All I can say is that he was a son of the Solobodker Illuy in Brownsville. I remember a shiur by the RY Rav AYHP who said that causing a stumbling block for someone requires Teshuva. Reminds me of a story. A big chasidic Rabbi from Poland came to the US post holocaust and went to Dean Sar for a position in RIETS. The problem with the WS was chilul Shabbos ???????. The solution included LSS. Cantor SG from New Haven and RSK from Brooklyn
In spite of what is reported we remain proud of MO and its Yeshivot here and in Israel. The RY in YU are outstanding and always were. Dr BDR and SB saw to that. I remember one year each RY gave a shiur on the same inyan in the BM. ???? ???? ???? ?? ???.
It is not fair to attribute heresy to the YI movement . The great and amazing Dr DS was referred to as the CC of America. He was Rav of YI ES. I think.
The knowledge of Chassidic texts and Kebalah is absolutely amazing . Both gushniks and jbniks are exceptionally well read. The YU sefarim sale proves this.

Harav Feldman stressed the point that we can not demonstrate with Christian clergy. This point is well taken and based on the teaching of the RY RAK zatzal who considered it a chilul Hashem. Harav Feldman also states that for pikuach nefesh we can demonstrate with different types of Jewish clergy. Indeed the Agudas Yisrael has shown that it represents the needs of Klal Yisrael.A big yasher koach to them.
RM, there is no respectable Rav neither in America or Israel who says that Hebrew National is nevelah or treyf. The old Rav Hamachshir was a talmid of the CC of Radin. The present Rav is world recognized talmid of Chevron. Yeshiva University had talmidim of Radin ( Dr. Belkin) , Telz ( Dr. Revel) , the Mir ( Harav Lifshitz), Slutzk ( Harav Paleyeff), Brisk ( Harav Gorelick), and Slabodka ( Rav Shatzkes) All this beside the Geonim Soloveichik . There was never a Yeshiva like Yitzchak Elchanan with such great Rebeyim. Not even close.
AAQ with all due respect do you think that RJBS explanation as to why theology is assur is adequate ? Additionally, The Rabbonim in YU were in 3 camps years ago, L, R and C. With the advent of Dr. Lander’s Yeshiva the R moved from RIETS to Dr. Lander. Do you think Reb Elchanan zatzal would consider it any differently than Dr. Revel’s Yeshiva or BML?
I remember what the RY Harav GS said concerning the Yeshiva of Harav Reines. Anyone else remember that fateful day when the RL Harav OY came to TV maybe in 1974 or so. The bottom line is that it is very rare for one group to recognize and support the Yeshivas of another. But we do know that the SR sent his best talmidim to listen and repeat the shiurim of RYBS.
Do you think this is a continuation or an extension of the well known heter to teach women ? Or do you think it is a separate issur on the goy to learn Torah because of the cheftza of Torah. It would be hard to say its on the gavra because the goy does not listen . Anyway a lot of reyd here .
