There is a difference between מומר לתאבון an otd from desire and מומר להכעיס and an otd to anger. An otd to anger passes his non-beliefs to his children whereas an otd from desire will not. An otd from desire will repent when the age of desire is gone, whereas the otd to anger will never repent. I would say that otd to anger will be a מסית ומדיח, someone who makes others sin, and can be called Ym”s.

Mentioned in the above biography is a story about a young man who was called to serve in the army. He went to Rav Yonasan zt”l who give him an incantation to say before he saw the doctor. When he said , the goats in the slaughter house are fatter than me (Tractate Megilla), he became a lepper, so the doctor through him out in order not to get infected. I think the prayer we say don’t bring me to temptation and don’t bring me to shame. We can interpret this that if you bring me to temptation, you will bring me to shame.

Revealing a secret is lashan hara. A kohen was killed when he revealed to his friend that the floor was not level in the Beis Hamikdash and the holy ark was hidden there.

The Torah gives us in Parshas R’eh a means of how to diet. When a person wants to eat, he should eat at the time when he can control himself. Eat when you are hungry as long you are hungry. It says
Devorim 12:20 ואמרת אכלה בשר explains the Chasam Sofer you should be able to say that you want to eat meat כי תתאוה נפשך לאכל בשר because when you desire to eat meat, בכל אוות נפשך תאכל בשר with all your desire you will eat meat, you will not be able to control yourself.

No, in either way, people who care will ask, where is your hat or they don’t know and their won’t be an embarassment. As according to the Baer
Hetev above you are not mechuyav to spend any money on a minyan but not gaining money might be different.

I think the argument between Yaakov Avinu and the brothers is, if to satisfy the judgement requirement for kidnapping do you have to kill the whole city of Shechem or satisfy the requirement by some other means like making them slaves.

It does not say in the above mentioned source that it is a chiyuv, It says that effort should be exerted. More important to daven in a shul and the time people are davening.

There is a Baal Haturim on ויקץ יעקב משנתו ויאמר Yaakov Avinu woke up from his sleep and said, has the last letters צבור indicating that ones prayer is only listened to in unity. We need each others zachusim that our prayers be listened to. It says before אכן יש ה’ במקום הזה ואנכי לא ידעתי could be related to the above, Hashem exists in this place provided I put aside my egotism.

Gaon, Yaakov Avinu held like the Samuel Hanovi that this is a שכיח הזיקא where being harmed is prevalent so the mitzva will not protect you.

1 – I explained already that assuming that you have a good reason going to this place on vacation, so you are not doing anything wrong since you davened already with a minyan before you left. It is recommended that, if there is a shul, daven there and the time when people daven.

Joseph, did you see the rephrasing of the question. There is nothing wrong
in going to a vacation. You daven with a minyan before you leave.

Gaon, I think the question that Yaakov Avinu had , do I have to put myself
in a precarious situation in order to enforce the law that might get me killed and then have to rely on a miracle to get saved?

I will rephrase your question. Are you allowed to do something currently (where you don’t do anything wrong) which will cause that later on you have to rely on a bedaved davening without a minyan?

You can’t compare it to the case where the hot water spilled on shabbos because there is mitzva to do milah which causes the pikuach nefesh to heat water after. Here there is no mitzva to go on vacation.

Gaon, look at the Chezkuni 34:25 ד”ה ויהרגו כל זכר it looks like they have a chiyuv to create a court to enforce the laws of kidnapping and if they don’t that it becomes our responsibility.

I remember that a kosher animal that chews its cud has multiple stomachs so I don’t think this is scientifically possible.

According to the above Ohr Hachaim why do we need to create a new entity let us do a genetic modification to make it kosher?

    Reb Eliezer

The Ohr Hachaim says in Parshas Shemini that there will be a new pig created by the redemption that will chew its cud which will be kosher. Aisov who is compared to the pig being fake showing its cut hoofs will repent and therefore it will become kosher.

Something to remeber him by. It says in Parshas Eikev מראשית השנה עד אחרית שנה from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Why is there a specific article ה ידוע in the beginning of the year. I heard the explanation in his name that every beginning of the year a person thinks this is the year (for the redemption), but at the end realizes that it is like any other year. This is the meaning of הן גאלתי אתכם אחרית כראשית it will be said that the redemption at the end will be like the beginning.

We can create unity among the different groups according the writing of Rav Eliyohu Dessler in Mchtav Eliyohu saying that every group serves Hashem with their nature, some are cold and some are warm. There are different ways of serving Him. The importance is to serve Him and not how we serve Him.

Could be a ת”ח should have שמינית שבשמינית 1/64 of humility which is the ר”ת of סייעתא דשמיא recognizing that he needs Heavenly help to find the truth in learning. I also heard that Mount Sinai the smallest mountain is 1/64th of the largest mountain Har Karmel.

How does one shteig (climb higher)? There is constantly a confilct between the body and soul. The Ben Ish Chay says the Shabbos is a day of peace because eating for shabbos sake unites them. To make peace and resolve them explains the Chasam Sofer we do something small for the benefit of the soul until the body gets used to it and continue this to improve ourself day by day. This is what is meant in סור מרע ועשה טוב בקש שלום ורדפהו turn away from bad and do good by creating peace (between body and soul) through fighting the peace.

    Reb Eliezer

It says שוב יום אחד לפני מותך repent a day before your death. As the person does not know when this day comes, he will repent every day. Every day he will climb to higher level so the yetzer hara becomes stronger, because כל הגדול מחבירו יצרו גדול ממנו, whoever is greater than his friend, his yetzer hara becomes also greater.

    Reb Eliezer

Help from Above is also required to understand and find the truth in our learning. The Chasam Sofer explains that the Torah has hidden treasures and through Hashem’s help they get revealed. The Hafloh says that a question comes from Heavenly help. I explained that the Jews encountered bitter water and through a bitter tree it became sweet. Comparing this to the learning of Torah, sometimes we don’t understand at all our learning making it completely bitter. We are helped to find the truth through a question, but a question itself without an answer is also bitter. When an answer is found, it becomes sweet.

    Reb Eliezer

Heavenly help or help from the Heavens. It says יצרו של אדם מתגבר עליו בכל יום the yetzer hara of the person strengthens itself every day ואלמלא הקב”ה עוזר לו לא יוכל לו if Hashem would not help the person, he could not fight him.
