It would be hard to meet for the first time if we already knew each other, and nothing worthwhile is easy, but I’m still just working on a way to exchange references!

I would also suggest some method be implemented for member to exchange contact info if they so choose.

I agree that the mods should check shiurim that are posted, I just meant that the YWN staff shouldn’t be burdened with finding shiurim to post l’chatchila.

Assuming professional, brilliant, learning and good middos (and sense of humor and the ability to get rid of any and all herring aromas, I dare add) are a given, how does one get to find out if he’s not your type?

Saddly, you’r not as big a geek as you think – on Star Trek “Scotty” did not have an Irish accent.

And most Australians really are just stonied Englishmen.

Start with vodka with the matjes. Put a piece of herring into the vodka for a “Herringtini”, which I invented durring l’chaims in the beis midrash when I was in yeshiva. Add some of the herring juice to make a “dirty” Herringtini. This works with the naked too.

    Try scotch after the others.

Enjoy these l’shem mitzvah and l’koved shabbos! Tzaddikim can have a gilgul into fish whose eyes never close, so release their whole sparks with the proper kavanah!

Beside matjas also try the naked, dill, and parve cream.

(I also suggest schnapps and Listerine pocket packs fo afterwars.)

There are many frum men who believe “over educated” is an oxymoron and would jump at the chance to be set up with Yoheved, her sisters, their current gilgullim, and other firey, inteligent, engaged, accomplished, and earnest women with so much to offer to their husbands as well as their children, as we have in this thread and on this board. I believe family should always be the ultimate priority, but that is also true for our men and I don’t see a thread complaining about Over-Educated Boys.

I think I we both would really enjoy that (even sans ipad, c”v) and I appreciate you hospitality. I am busy this shabbos and probably in Beijing next shabbos and HK after that (I could get a fresh ipad right from the source over there), but I’d love to arrange it for after that. (The timing is a little inconvenient this time and I hate to interrupt my seder, but I am looking forward to a total of about 40 hours quality learning time on the plane, and last night I loaded 61 GB of shiurim onto my hard drive for it! Also, there is a great community with good learning in HK. In any case, as they say, duty calls!

Also, it doesn’t have to be Shabbos when we get together, or even over a Tish!

Mod’s, please give Sacrilege my email. Thanks!

I’m with oomis1105 – Bikur Cholim. There are many great organizations and you can also just head down to your local hospital!

Great question/aspiration, APusheta. But also bear in mind that every moment in every encounter we are constantly presented with myriad opportunities to do amazingly significant heeds with enormous impacts for individuals through such small and easy acts. As the Holy Piazetzner would tell his , just try to do a little kindness for someone. When we see the world and people around us becoming so broken we should that as a tremendous chance and increased ability to raise battered souls with simplest gestures. Tiniest word to a stranger can release the holiest spark!

Well, seems a fair enough price for your olfactory prowess, let alone for a chance to find one’s beshert at the Shabbos Tisch (risks of gehenim for so meeting aside).
