popa_bar_abbaParticipant
You ask on YWN whether something needs to be asked to Popa.
See, many people think that emotional disorders are caused by chemical imbalances, but Popa thinks they are caused by Informational Imbalances.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOk, fine, you all caught me. I was asking this because my wife complained that I only say veibeshe toirah and asked me to find regular toirah to say when we have guests.
Now that you’ve all embarrassed me, do you have any real advice?
December 5, 2013 2:10 pm at 2:10 pm in reply to: Tal Umatar will never fall on Zos Chanuka ever again – by a drunken popa #991341popa_bar_abbaParticipantYah and that’s how I didn’t have one for remembering to daven maariv when I posted last night
December 5, 2013 2:05 pm at 2:05 pm in reply to: People who quote opinions from the CR in real life #991360popa_bar_abbaParticipantI was blocked a few more times by 80 a couple years ago. I don’t completely remember why.
But the esrog one will always be my fave. It was right around the big xmas snowstorm in 2010
popa_bar_abbaParticipantDifferent types of intelligence work best when they are balanced. Not when you have tons of one.
December 5, 2013 1:08 am at 1:08 am in reply to: People who quote opinions from the CR in real life #991354popa_bar_abbaParticipantI was blocked a few times. The first time was for saying to stone a chazzan with esrogim for singing too long, or something like that.
December 5, 2013 1:07 am at 1:07 am in reply to: Tal Umatar will never fall on Zos Chanuka ever again – by a drunken popa #991339popa_bar_abbaParticipantI was just thinking I forgot to say tal umatar. Then I remembered I didn’t daven maariv yet.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’m not looking to impress the guests. It will be even more embarrassing if he says veibeshe torah and I say regular torah.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantGood idea. Just make it up. What they don’t know can’t hurt them.
December 4, 2013 8:39 pm at 8:39 pm in reply to: Why don't people use their signals while driving? #991957popa_bar_abbaParticipantI am very meticulous about right of way when I am driving. I have right of way.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’m not knocking it! I just think my husband should not be in tzena renna.
Miritchka: So?
December 4, 2013 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm in reply to: People who quote opinions from the CR in real life #991345popa_bar_abbaParticipantI usually quote you
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYou’d never believe what has transpired in between.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI grate the potatoes and onions (roughly 4 to 1) and then put in a colander with a generous amount of salt to extract all the water from the potatoes. Let sit for about 45 minutes and then squeeze out the potatoes. Add pepper and 2 eggs. Fry.
I didn’t even know you still read YWN. You should def put that in the recipe.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantNo ideas?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantThat’s insane. Don’t give it. Just write “see attached”, and then write an addendum that you will be happy to provide that info upon matriculation.
December 4, 2013 3:20 am at 3:20 am in reply to: Personal Statement for Seminary Applications #990916popa_bar_abbaParticipantMost girls just make stuff up. Like say how you used to be fat but now are thin, or used to have an eating disorder but now are fat.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSee second post.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantPopa’s husband would like everyone to note the above veiber torah and judge whether he is correct to keep it at this level.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOf course it has occured to me. That’s why I always ask him what the rablah says about his dvar torah, and why the giores disagrees.
December 3, 2013 9:47 pm at 9:47 pm in reply to: Surprisingly, the more I hear about Obamacare, the more I like it. #993878popa_bar_abbaParticipantlol
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think that means already tested by someone else and knows results. Its to prevent people figuring out status.
December 3, 2013 8:34 pm at 8:34 pm in reply to: Tal Umatar will never fall on Zos Chanuka ever again – by a drunken popa #991330popa_bar_abbaParticipantOh I thought you meant tal umatar started sunday night that year. Ok fine, so I’m wrong.
Anyway I was thinking that next time it fell this early would be after 2100 but whatevs
December 3, 2013 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm in reply to: Tal Umatar will never fall on Zos Chanuka ever again – by a drunken popa #991329popa_bar_abbaParticipantThat means it will be the day after chanuka

popa_bar_abbaParticipantMaybe she was dumb?
December 3, 2013 5:48 pm at 5:48 pm in reply to: Very Interesting! The Reason Why We Eat Jelly Donuts On Chanukah #990802popa_bar_abbaParticipantGreat thread. I want donuts.
popa_bar_abbaParticipant….uh,…pba, you REALLY should speak to somebody about your daily chores. There are professionals out there for these types of things, y’know,….
That’s what OP is saying, that she wants a cleaning lady
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think I’m with syag on the puree angle. I’d food process them, but definitely not with a cuisinart
popa_bar_abbaParticipantHe has good looks.
Kidding, it means he isn’t pretending to be someone he isn’t; he is inside the same as he appears from the outside. It is usually said as as compliment. Except if he is shvartzawolf, then it is an insult.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantRefrigerating?
Oh, my father refrigerates the dough while it is rising, so that he can rise it over shabbos. I’d imagine you can just let it rise on the counter for an hour or so instead.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantlol, I’ll try that one out
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWell, I think my father’s recipe is for round skillet like 10 inches wide and about 2 deep.
I normally imagine it feeds 3 men on a motzei shabbos.
I make a third of the recipe and put it in a 6 inch round, and it feeds one man and one woman on a motzei shabbos. (Or one man and also one man for lunch on sunday.)
If you are making it for a family, I’d say make two, in two skillets at the same time.
You can also use a casserole dish if you don’t have a large skillet. It doesn’t matter if it is round or square.
It is the kind of pizza you eat with a knife and fork, btw.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOk, but is it normal to want to iron socks so that they are neat inside the fridge?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantDid it have Tennessee plates? It was me.
December 2, 2013 11:30 pm at 11:30 pm in reply to: Where to buy a kallah bracelet in Monsey #1120470popa_bar_abbaParticipantRight. And we wanna know if you under/over 1250
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYou need another nachla? ??? ???? ??????!!!!!!!!!!!
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI heard it isn’t frum at all; it’s basically on the same level as hadar now.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYes, it’s run by a very sweet lady named Rebbetzin Kivolofsky. She has a Phd in Microeconomics with a focus on Atmospheric Paleontology. She is planning to compete with BJJ for the “using money to get in crowd”, and is only accepting students whose parents bribe their way in.
(Also, they ask for 8 pictures to make sure you are skinny enough to get in, and the door to the seminary is very narrow to make sure you can’t get in if you gain weight after the picture.)
It is a highly competitive sem to get into, because of its close proximity to the dining room.
December 2, 2013 10:23 pm at 10:23 pm in reply to: Where to buy a kallah bracelet in Monsey #1120468popa_bar_abbaParticipantNu, what’d you spend?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantDefinitely see a mekubal. The cheap ones are ok, but if you want to really connect with your neshama in a way that will allow you to grow and reach your potential, it is gonna cost you big bucks–and it’s worth every penny.
Today is cyber monday though, see if you can find any advertising a sale.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI wrote it on parchment and affixed it to my doorposts.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantFTR: I wrote my DY num down on my passport. That worked.
December 2, 2013 6:39 pm at 6:39 pm in reply to: You're Celebrating Your First Chanukah As A Married Person #990593popa_bar_abbaParticipantI don’t know when I’ll be there next. But if you must know, I had my eye out for you.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantwhat if you falsely swear falsely by falsehood falsely. Like, if you don’t really swear, but pretend that you do, and the thing to don’t swear is false, and you swear it by something false also, and really you only even pretended to swear by that false thing in your pretend swearing but really were pretend swearing by something true.
Then what happens?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSo that you don’t have to give your social out to everyone you date
popa_bar_abbaParticipantlamir alle zingen

und lamir alle tantzen tzuzamin!!
We sing it.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAlso, in colleges they come around and do it for like free. So go to a college.
