I just ate a chobani fat free greek yogurt with pomegranate for lunch. It had pomegranate seeds on the bottom, which seemed strange to me when I crunched them. But it was good.

I have heard there is a minhag atik in artzos habris that if you are lighting big getchkes on fire, it should be on the front lawn, and while wearing your kittel and tallis over your head.

It is considered 4. Because each flight to get there is also considered one. Because you think of the other person while you are on the plane.

Thus, if she comes in to lakewood once, and he goes to Detroit once, they have gone out 8 times and should get engaged. Assuming that she is not taller than him.

There are two Ner Israel yeshivos in baltimore, but they share the same building, name, and facilities. But sit on different sides of the beis medrash.

One is mostly for bochurim in their first few years post high school, and these bochurim usually end up in eretz yisroel and then Lakewood.

The other is mostly for bochurim who are returning from yeshivos in eretz yisroel such as Beis Yisroel, and are going to college at night.

So you really need to be specific which Ner Israel you are talking about. You can know which one a boy is in by asking how many years out of high school he is, and whether he is in college.

Writersoul: exactly, thank you for undrestanding my point. I don’t believe in manipulating kids into doing things regardless of that it is for a good purpose.

You should speak positively because you are yourself a positive person and actually see people that way-not because it “works”. Obedience school is for dogs.

plite: You can get normal fat-free yogurt as well. That isn’t what the straining does. You are being fed garbage, both literally and metaphorically.

(But you are correct that the protein ratio in greek yogurt is much higher)

I don’t get this greek yogurt nonsense. It’s just yogurt. Buy the one that doesn’t say greek–it tastes the same and is cheaper.

Of course you hate school. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t. I hate school too (they cost too much and turn your kids brain into mush).

I’ve actually seen a study that tracked kids from when they entered school until the finished, and showed that the level on new growth in their brains drops precipitously over that period, and does not come back.

Because its always the women who insist on the divorce. The men are content to just separate and live apart and fight over the money and the kids. Its always the wife who insists on the get.

I doubt the ultraOrthodox divorce rate is anywhere close to 10%. Of the roughly 90 weddings I went to over the past 10 years only 3 ended in divorce.

They’re probably including people with a x-mas tree in their house as modern orthodox like the pew study.

But just to pick on your statistics, some people get divorced after 10 years also you know.

We should be better than the goyim- that’s why I’m comparing!

Sure, but you are making a correlation where there obviously are confounding variables which make the correlation likely inapplicable here.

That is, in the general population, they get married old, have lots of divorce, and the younger marriers get more divorced.

In our world, we get married young, and have much less divorce. You can’t assume that the correlation that the younger marriers are getting more divorced holds.

It has been proven beyond doubt that couples who marry at younger ages are more likely to get divorced than those who are older when getting married..

That might be because they live longer after their marriage.

In the frum velt, girls and boys commonly get married very young compared to the national average. This might be the reason behind growing divorce rates. Just a thought.

On the other hand, our divorce rate is a fraction of theirs, so why in the world would you think to compare that?

I once upon a time saw big piles of driftwood on the beach, but then figured out that it was really dried seaweed. Because seaweed washes up much better than driftwood apparently.

So if you aren’t drifting up as fast as you’d like, it’s just a sign that you aren’t seaweed.
