And when the boy does get baited by her short dress and perfume and jewelry, does the Yeshivish boy wait to stalk her as she leaves the wedding (constantly checking the other side of the mechitza to see when she is leaving) and ask her out as she walks out? Or should he just walk over to the other side of the mechitza and pull her from the dancing to ask her for her number?

Maybe Yeshiva boys should go to public school for secular studies, since we all know how great American public school pupils come out in knowledge of their studies.

Unfortunately we live in a time where girls & I mean girls, not married women must use bait to catch the fish.

Are you kidding? They can be nichshal men “to catch the fish”? What’s the heter for that and who issued it?

BTW, in the Yeshivish community how many marriage do you personally know that came about from a girl dressing to be stared and met a boy (who was looking at the other side of the mechitza) at a wedding? Do you also suppose removing the mechitza at the wedding? How else will these girls looking (and dressed) to be looked at be able to “bait the boys” at the wedding with their choicy dress?

And, do you really expect married women to dress less attractive at a chasunah than unmarried women? (As a realistic matter, not idealistic.)

    Earthquake and Tsunami

by Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski

According to the Torah, there are seven Noahide Laws that are binding on all human beings, and these constitute the Natural Law according to which the world operates; these are:

    Prohibition of idolatry

    Prohibition of murder

    Prohibition of theft

    Prohibition of sexual promiscuity

    Prohibition of blasphemy

Prohibition of flesh taken from a live animal

    Requirement to have just laws.

All human beings, religionists and non-religionists are required to abide by these laws, which underlie the Natural Law according to which the world operates. Violation of these laws is tampering with Natural Law, whose consequences can be catastrophic.

Is this an injustice? Yes, just as it is an injustice for a pedestrian to be killed by a reckless driver. Such happenings occur because G-d does not interfere with the free choice and behavior of human beings. Just as we do not fault G-d when an innocent person is killed by a reckless driver, we should not fault G-d when innocent people, victims of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunami, suffer from the reckless behavior of those who violate the Natural Law.

No one is singled out to suffer the consequences of tampering with Natural Law. Violation of the seven Noahide Laws by people on one continent may result in a disruption of the Natural Law according to which the world operates, and the consequences of such disruption may occur on a distant continent. The disruption of the Natural Law which affected Indonesia and Haiti may have been caused by violations of the Noahide Laws by people the world over. No individual or group of people can be singled out as responsible and as being punished.

The seven Noahide Laws are the basis of decency and morality. Every human being should behave according to them.

It serves to remind us that every minor action on our part can have worldwide repercussions we may not even be aware of. For positive or for negative, depending on what we do.

Sam- It has NOT always been legal to do this sin. The Supreme Court only overturned the anti-Sodomy laws about 6 years ago. Those law made the actual act illegal. Furthermore, the “civil union” laws are itself a recent innovation of the past few years, that ought to be done away with together with the toeiva marriage laws.

    Yerushalmi Berachos, perek 9, halacha 2, (64A):

    Rav Acha taught:

    [Earthquakes happen] because of homosexuality.

Midrash Rabah, Parshas Bereshit, perek 26, paragraph 5:

Rav Huna taught in the name of Rav Yosef:

The Generation of the Flood was not blotted out

of the world until they made official marriage contracts

Sam- The Gemorah specifically writes that governmental non-recognition of homosexual “marriage” contracts is what saves the goyim.

Popa is absolutely correct. It is very tragic that girls dress up for a wedding to attract strange men. Yet it unfortunately not only true, but very prevalent. This crime is done by both married and unmarried girls.

Sam- WIY doesn’t need to justify taking his stance that is backed up by gedolim, which you acknowledge it is. WIY is correct in his criticisms here, as the gedolim you refer to make the same criticism in the OP’s situation.

How then does OU and other hechsherim give a hechsher to bread baked by non-Jewish national bread companies? And have not Jews eaten bread from non-Jewish bakers immediately after Pesach for thousands of years?
