If you live in a busy neighborhood, it doesn’t pay to have a car. L’mooshil, if you live in Borough Park, on 45th Street, between 11 and 12th Avenues, the block of the big Rachmistrivka shul, you will have a hard time parking and spend hours looking for a space.

I actually disagree with some of YWN’s hashkafos in regards to editing. I feel that they sometimes allow things that do not belong on YWN, and other things that have nothing wrong with them, they edit or don’t post. (I will not be surprised if they edit this post as well!!!)

The holy Steipler was a Chasidic Jew. As much as the yeshivisher world thinks he was litvish, he was born through a bracha from Reb Motel of Hornisteipel. He wore a gartel under his long jacket. He went to Mikva very often, even on Shabbos. He was very humble and would stand up for anyone who he knew was a Hornisteipler einikel. For some more info on his shaychis to Chasidis you can see the sefer “YA’AMAR L”YAAKOV U”LYISROEL” published by the world renowed rabbi and doctor Twersky.

The chizuk I have for you is that it says in Zohar (Parshas Va’yichee) that Hashem does not look at the faults of a Tzibur and accepts their tefilos.

Having said this, I think that a person who does not make the proper effort* to davin with minyan can be categorized as a Ba’al Ga’avah. He feels that he is perfect, and is not afraid that the Almighty One, who knows what is in everyone’s heart, will see anything wrong with him.

*The Shulchan Aruch says that one is Mechuyiv to make an effort to davin with minyan (we don’t find this terminalogy by most halachos)

Rebetzin Bulka’s New Seminary does not officially have an online program. However, I know that this semester they had a student that Skyped in from Eretz Yisroel to every class. Also, there were a few students that were able to Skype in when they were out of town.

I am surprised that nobody mentioned THE NEW SEMINARY’s social work program.

They have a program that has separate classes for men and women, through Long Island University (in their Brooklyn campus).

It goes according to the Jewish calendar. Only men professors for the men, and mostly women professors for the woman.

All classes take place on Sundays.

    It is a hiemish environment.

    aries2756!

U don’t have to put down other approaches to make yours valid. There are many good approaches that work with many people and not with others. And I have no doubt that your approach does not work with every single person.

And btw, the approach of “never tell a person what to do” is identical to the social work approach and to many others.

Moreover, not going into the clients past sounds radical when you are dealing with a person’s emotional dilemas

It is nearly impossible for a human to stay moral throughout lifetime while being single.

“The obvious needs no proof.” Just look around and you will see.

Not getting married is fighting nature.

A person who been married and lost their spouse but has children, is a different story.

As per Member m12345, Any professional job is in jepordy because of the unstable economy. The best parnosa is to “officially” not have a job, and eat out of “Uncle Sam’s” pocket, i.e. food stamps, medicaid, section 8, WIC, lunch program, after school vouchers for tuition, big fat tax return, etc. Uncle Sam begs us to take from him, so go right ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
