Trayvon Martin’s parents plan to participate in separate vigils Saturday.
Martin’s mother and her son, Sabrina and Jahvaris Fulton, will join Al Sharpton outside New York Police Department headquarters.
Martin’s father, Tracy Martin, is set to be at a similar event at a federal courthouse in Miami.
Sharpton’s National Action Network is planning rallies in 100 cities to press for federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.
The Justice Department is investigating whether Zimmerman violated Martin’s civil rights when he shot the 17-year-old during a February 2012 confrontation in Sanford, Fla.
Zimmerman said he fired in self-defense. He was acquitted last Saturday of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

I wonder why didn’t they do the same thing when nelson racially yelled kill the Jew and then killed yenkel rosenbaum in crown heights more then 10 years ago? Where is your anger at the young black men daily killing more young black men?
Forty-nine percent of murder victims are blacks, and 93% of them were killed by other blacks. More than half of these murder victims were in their teens and twenties. Where is your anger about this? Why are you focusing on one case, when there were almost 7,000 more in this country that were black-on-black murders in just one year — 150 the same week that Trayvon was killed? In just one year, more young black men were murdered by other blacks in the U.S. than the total casualties during the entire decade of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
When we see you protesting and carrying on about your own brothers murderous ways we’ll take you seriously. Until them you are just a buffoon looking for headlines.
He is one of the biggest racist in America. He does not care one iota if blacks get kill; he can’t make money on this; but have a non black kill a black that is a different story. What about if a non black kills a mix race person such as asia and black or white and black; how does he feel on this.
He should be in Chicago and working hard to stop the black on black teen violence. He would have a life time job in doing this. He should also be screaming about the amount of abortion among the black. It is a disaster. Why doesn’t he work on promoting black men marry their childrens mothers.
