Israelis Trapped in Nepal Calling for Assistance

Following the latest major earthquakenq in Nepal on Tuesday, 23 Iyar, Israelis trapped in that country are calling on government officials to push red tape aside and to respond to get them out as quickly as possible.

The message from the parents of premature twins born in Nepal, Moran and Yoav Elani is “get us out”. They are calling for immediate Israeli intervention to get the parents, infants and surrogate moms out of there as quickly as possible.

Magen David Adom Chief Eli Bin reports that another team is preparing to respond as the organization did three weeks ago. They plan to bring the Israeli babies back home along with the parents. Members of the team will include neonatologists.

While in Israel there is no official word of Israeli being among the dead and injured in the latest quake, Rabbi Lifshitz and his staff at the Katmandu Chabad House are quite busy as this has once again become a safe haven for the many Israeli backpackers in the quake area.

The latest quake registered 7.3. There are reports of over 60 dead and 2,000 injured.
