Former Yisrael Beitenu Party MK Michaeli is Returning to Politics

Former Yisrael Beitenu MK Anastasia Michaeli is returning to the political arena, albeit not the Knesset. The former MK served in Knesset from February 2009 until May 2013.

Michaeli is running on the Yisrael Beitenu list in the Rishon L’Tzion municipal elections. Anastasia, who is a resident of Rishon, is second on the list, which is headed by Yevgeni Brachman.

Michaeli’s name often made headlines in non-positive contexts, the most memorable of which was the incident during which she poured water on former MK Raleb Majadele during a Knesset debate. Another incident was her confrontation in the plenum with Knesset Member Hanin Zoabi after the Marvi Marmara flotilla, during which she tried to force her down from the podium.

Michaeli caused a storm when she claimed in one of the discussions that most members of the toeiva community become such after they undergo sexual harassment at an early age, and ultimately, they are the ones who “commit suicide at the age of 40”.
