A armed Palestinian terrorist was shot and killed in Kiryat Arba on Monday afternoon, after he tried stabbing IDF soldiers at a checkpoint at the entrance to the Givat Avot neighborhood.

Bechasdei Hashem, no soldiers were injured.

A knife was found on the floor next to the terrorist. Soldiers covered his dead body with a black trash bag.

Palestinian police identified the man killed as Wael al-Jabari, 27.

“An initial investigation revealed that the terrorist took out a knife and walked toward a group of soldiers at the Givat Avot checkpoint in Hebron. The soldiers opened fire at him,” the IDF said in a statement.

The incident took place a day after a suspicious Arab woman was apprehended at Kalandia checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, and found to be in possession of a knife.

Also Sunday, a Palestinian man entered the settlement of Tekoa, south of Jerusalem, and tried to attack a resident with a small garden ornament shaped like a bicycle. He was quickly apprehended and wrestled to the ground by locals before being arrested by responding security forces. There were no injuries.
