An IDF soldier is reported in stable condition after being hit in his face with an acidic compound on Wednesday morning, thrown by an Arab woman at the Chawarah Checkpoint in Shomron, near Tapuach Junction.
The woman who threw the caustic substance did manage to escape. The soldier received preliminary treatment at the scene and was then taken to a Tel Aviv area hospital.
According to hospital officials, the soldier will most likely have facial scaring as a result of his injuries but they are not releasing additional details at this time. It is not the first time that PA (Palestinian Authority) residents attempt to harm soldiers with a caustic substance. The Chawarah Checkpoint is one of the busier crossings and it has been the site of many attempted and successful attacks, more commonly soldiers compelled to deal with minors who are used as conduits to bring bombs and other weapons across the checkpoint, with terrorists aware if they are apprehended, the consequences will be less serious than apprehending an adult.

Back in the day when we knew how to fight wars, and cared more about winning them, than in being politically correct, here’s what would happen in a case like this one… The town where this animal came from would be ascertained, and then it would, within hours, be flattened to a parking lot. Simple. And, you’d be amazed how quickly the enemy learns not to do attacks like that ever again. Its like, l’havdil, the very brutal and gory death penalties in the Torah. Once people know these penalties exist and really WILL be carried out if necessary, it is almost never necessary to do so.
