Former Deputy Minister of Defense (Labor) Dr. Ephraim Sneh told Arutz-7 Hebrew news that Israel mustn’t rely on others to do that what must be done against Iran, but to act – and the time is now.

Sneh explained that now, with the revelation of the nuclear facility in Qom, Israel can tell the world that “we were correct all along”. 

Sneh directed some of his warnings to the European Union, explaining the long-range rockets fired by Tehran during the military exercises that began on Sunday verified that at least six EU capitals are within rocket range.

The former senior official went on to explain that he has been sounding the alarm for a decade, stating the problem is not an Israeli one alone, but a threat to the entire world. The sanctions are not sufficient he warns, explaining a major coalition of nations against Iran is necessary to exert the required pressure to prevent Iran’s nuclear program from being completed. Painful economic sanctions that will impact Iran’s oil income are required to bring Tehran to its knees. America has the capability to implement such an embargo immediately, expressing a hope that US President Barak Obama truly understands the gravity of the situation.

Militarily speaking, the former IDF brigadier-general added that he feels Israel has the military capability to address the problem, further stating every problem has a solution, even an underground installation. This decision he emphasizes must be that of the State of Israel and Israel alone. He concluded by stating Israel does not require the green light from the United States.
