The question is not, does it help to have a tzadik speak to hashem on your behalf, but, how much is it worth for you to have the tzadik speak to hashem on your behalf. If $36, pledge.

Please a) quote the shulchan aruch that is relevant here and b)apparently these extenuating circumstances are legitimate enough that despite whatever shulchan aruch you might quote Roshei Yeshiva are willing to not only look the other way, but actively employ these women for their own offices.

A point to consider. Many women start “school” and “work” before they have children and almost always before they are even engaged, let alone married.

Are you proposing that all those years of schooling go for naught? Are you suggesting that all jewish females enroll in a full time seminary until the day they have their first child?

It is nice quote pie in the sky sentiment. It is quite another to offer something practical.

    Please offer something concrete.

Teshuva, Tefilla, Tzedaka Mavirin es roah hagizera.

You do teshuva yourself, you dont pay anyone to do it for you (nor can you), so, daven yourself and give whatever amount of tzedaka you can, to any worthy cause.

Chazal never stipulated that only tefilla by specific tzadikim, or specific amounts of money will be mavir es hagizerah.

“gavra, the position you attribute to the RY of Lakewood is incorrect.”

I would have to assume the Roshei Yeshiva Shlita of BMG have no issues with married women with small children working outside the home. They employ married women with small children in their own offices.

“A woman’s place is at home.”

I wonder what every female who teaches in every pre school, elementary school, high school and seminary has to say about this? Once we have their response, we can then ask every married woman who works in a Yeshiva office what their reply is. We can then ask every Yeshiva administrator who employs married women in his yeshiva office what their answer is, or perhaps we can ask the Roshei Yeshiva of these very same yeshivos what their reply is.

Either way, I prefer that I am the only vote allowed, so that I will always get my way. Unfortunately, others disagree with me.

I am really curious how the OP believes a women with children should spend every waking hour of her day? The implication is that if she does anything or has an interest in anything other than to take care of the children or the household she is a feminist.

Some janitors make a lot of money (see NYC school custodians for example). I just never knew any jewish janitors.

Its interesting when a reporter quoted Obama exactly in a speech to the NAACP where he dropped his “gs” and said words like workin, payin and the like, the reporter was branded a racist for not “cleaning up” the speech. The reporter for his part stated he felt Obama purposely dropped the gs to make a point and he quoted him that wayto report the point being made.

Selective reporting (*nd when and over what to make a tumult) by the likes of CNN is what keeps folks like honest reporting in business.

Ask the Dr. to have a look at it. Perhaps it is cellulitis. If it is, nothing short of an antibiotic will clear it. You don’t want c”v that it should spread.

    “They have no choice!”

sure they do. the husband can take on a first, or even a second job. jewish men have been doing so since avraham avinu raised cattle. the chofetz chaim spent a few hours helping his wife in the store. the battle for the man has always been how to balance his torah and his ol parnassa. If his wife accepts this role upon herself, good for her, it does not mean it is the ideal.

Go to a DR. Infections are never a good sign, especially those that last more than 7 days.

My wife was advised by her DR to clean the posts on her earrings with rubbing alcohol every 4-6 weeks, since you never know what has built up there over time. Are you always sure to touch your ear lobes with clean hands, even if you are wearing “real” jewelry? It was also suggested that every so often she dip the posts into bacitracin or neosporin before putting her earring back on since it could never hurt and you never know what might just be inside that opening.

One does not have to spend an entire year in E”Y to visit and daven at mekomos hakedoshim, or “experience” eretz yisroel. yes, e”y is special and one can grow just from being there. Conversely, one can sink to great depths. The greater the kedusha, the stronger the corresponding forces of tuma (no, I dont have a source for it, but I hearn R’ Mopdechai Finkelman shlita, say this in the name of chazal, a number of times). Unbridled freedom, thousands of miles away from parents can be a recipe for disaster for many boys, and girls.

“Where would you take a tiyul to”

She could go on a 6 week tour of E”Y and tiyul to her hearts content, while saving her parents most of that 21k. If any of my children ever told me they wanted to go to E”Y for yeshiva or seminary and used “tiyul” as an argument, I would sign them up for a 6 week tour and enroll them in a local yeshiva/seminary.

In theory, it should be easier to keep these devices off after a three day yom tov, because you already did it for three days and your world didnt collapse. A Rebbe of mine stopped smoking after a three day yom tov (he figured he held off for three days and his world didnt come to an end, he held off another day, then another and it is 20 years later and he is still holding out).

It is about redeveloping a relationship with the world around you. That can include your family, if you dont have a family, you have a social group that you belong to (yeshiva, school, shul, work etc.). It is about being part of the world that you belong to, instead of detached from it absorbed in your laptop, music, phone, messaging device etc.

Did you see either of the 2 videos Ohr Naava put out promoting this?

the mujhadeen who drove out the soviets were a mishmash of many afghan tribes (including many who lived in the mountainous regions of pakistan who joined up to help drive the soviets out). with the soviets out, what we call today the taliban emerged as the strongest of the groups and took control of the country. it did not happen overnight. the soviets withdrew in 1989, by 1991, the taliban were running the asylum.
