☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
Then we could have posited a case where the material was not subject to the chiyuv.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYou haven’t shown me such a teshuvah, and witty though it may be, there’s truth to it.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe word is “compare”, and I’m not comparing pritzus with kashrus, I’m comparing it with tarfus.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSam, he wouldn’t be allowed to remove it.
PAA, he said it’s “a pair of kosher tzitzis”. I wouldn’t consider a ???? ???? according to the ??”? to be that.
Randomex, you are correct (that the riddle was a mistake).
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWould you go to a restaurant in which the food was “basically” kosher?
March 15, 2015 11:56 pm at 11:56 pm in reply to: do i get an aveirah if i don't do shnayim mikra? #1064247☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAlso, where do get that makkos mardus doesn’t require two eidim? It’s not one of the exceptions the Rambam brings.
March 15, 2015 10:37 pm at 10:37 pm in reply to: do i get an aveirah if i don't do shnayim mikra? #1064244☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMilah is an aseh sheyesh bo kares.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMore importantly, Shopping613, great job! Keep it up!

You could make a case for this one, but he’s clearly saying it because of increasing taa’vos and hana’os, and the irony of your bringing this in in a thread in which you are defending watching movies has not escaped me.
There are a lot of G movies that are mutar.
And some G movies are not okay, and I don’t know how it’s possible to discern which ones without watching them, which would be assur because they might be problematic. Either way, I’ll repeat my question, which you still haven’t answered, again: do you honestly believe that these G movies you refer to are the only ones frum people watch?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMarch 15, 2015 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm in reply to: do i get an aveirah if i don't do shnayim mikra? #1064241☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhich lav is that? Is not eating matza also a lav (Don’t not eat matza)?
Maybe it’s a lav not to say shnayim mikra: “Don’t be a non-shnayim-mikra-saying person”?
Just because you can phrase something in the negative doesn’t make it a lav.
Also, malkos needs two eidim.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRav Moshe knew that smoking was addictive, yet didn’t say it was assur.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNot everyone is so literal, only some people.
It’s not completely unnecessary, only mostly unnecessary.
A metaphor should have have some basis, otherwise it’s mostly (notice, I didn’t say completely) meaningless.
It wasn’t a guy who rebutted you, it was a girl.
Not everyone needs to relax, only most people.
Not everyone needs a plunger removed. In fact, most people don’t.
Chill.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYou still haven’t answered the question.
Anyhow, to your side points: some ????? ??? are ????? ?????, some aren’t.
Rav Moshe never made such a chilluk, at least not that I’ve seen. I think you made that up.
I do not consider his son-in-law to be a reliable source.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYes there is. For example, Rav Moshe does not approve of smoking (in fact disapproves), but says it’s not assur.
You still didn’t answer the question.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAnd you still haven’t answered my question, which I will clarify as well:
Do you honestly believe that the movies people are going to, or for that matter watching at home, are exclusively of content which R’ Moshe would not call assur?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt’s not lashon hora.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYou didn’t answer the question, and no.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDo you honestly believe that all the shomer Shabbos people going to movie theaters are going solely to films which R’ Moshe would approve of?
March 15, 2015 2:08 pm at 2:08 pm in reply to: do i get an aveirah if i don't do shnayim mikra? #1064237☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAlso, ca, who said anything about malkos? And what lav is violated if one doesn’t do milah?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMarch 15, 2015 2:01 pm at 2:01 pm in reply to: do i get an aveirah if i don't do shnayim mikra? #1064236☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCA: we find the word ??? used for both.

☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt’s just you.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhat does that mean, “chance of it being permitted”? The poskim are very clear about it.
Anyhow, that wasn’t my point. My point is that there’s no chiyuv to be dan l’kaf z’chus someone who has no chezkas kashrus for a particular issue, and not very productive to bury your head in the sand.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant????, ????
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThere are also Hatzoloh calls, ulcers, and rare, painful skin conditions.
So I don’t know why you even assume that there are any non frum Jews.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf he’s an eved or goy.
For a Yid, though, each beged with four corners requires tzitzis.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAlso:
:??? ???? ?? ??
??? ???? ?? ??? ?? ????
????? ????? ???? ??????? ?? ??????
???? ??? ?? ????? ???? ?????? ???
??? ?? ????? ???? ?????? ???? ???
I wasn’t going to bring that up, but technically, you’re right that someone who puts himself in such a situation without good reason is called a ???, which has possible ramifications for ????? ????.
One can be dan lekuf zchus and say that the people at the Sheepshead Bay Theater are watching clean movies.
One can also be dan l’kaf z’chus that all seemingly frei Yidden are really frum, and the reason they drive cars on Shabbos is because they’re all in Hatzoloh, the reason they eat tarfus is because they all have ulcers, and the reason they don’t dress tzniusly is because they all have rare, painful skin conditions.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow slowly depends on how retarded, I guess.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMarch 13, 2015 4:19 pm at 4:19 pm in reply to: Rav Moshe Feinstein – a scion of Chasidishe stock #1063894☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhy does it matter if it matters?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantVM, is that consistent with what you wrote earlier? If so, please explain.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt’s not so important what we think.
What is important is what the parents and daughter think, and how they communicate with each other about it.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAt first, I thought it stood for “!!!!!!!Rolling Floor Dead On Shikur!!!!!!Rolling Floor Dead On Shikur”
But then I sobered up.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow do KS shirts compare to CT or PF?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe relevant part to answer the question, “Who was ever ???? sheitels to begin with?”:
??? ??????? ??? ???? ??????? ????? ?????? ????? ?????? ??? ???”? ?? ?????? ?”? ??”? ????”? ????”?, ??? ???? ?? ????”? ????? ?? ??? ???? ???? ????? ????
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTaba’as.
Especially if it’s a wedding band.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAlternatively, the rest stands for “Fat, Drunk, Overweight Slob”.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYou tell us, MR.KNOW IT ALL.

March 12, 2015 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm in reply to: Newly discovered: Only known video of the Chofetz Chaim #1064089☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantUbiquitin, there was an article in Hamodia featuring an interview with Rav Shlomo Avigdor Altusky about his (extremely positive) reaction to the clip.
I’ve heard that Rav Yisroel Belsky was nispoel from it, and that Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky saw it and stood up for the Chofetz Chaim (my guess – not required l’halacha, just a hergesh).
March 12, 2015 4:13 pm at 4:13 pm in reply to: Rav Moshe Feinstein – a scion of Chasidishe stock #1063887☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI don’t think Goq is deficient in the humor department.
March 12, 2015 4:10 pm at 4:10 pm in reply to: Why are there approximately as many boys as girls? #1063825☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantOh, then I guess it’s no big deal.
March 12, 2015 1:53 pm at 1:53 pm in reply to: Why are there approximately as many boys as girls? #1063823☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWas it worth blowing two computers on that?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantUse glasses without stems.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWill she be taken to trial?
She might not have done anything technically illegal.
How is this being dealt with?
She’ll probably become the next president.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantShe says she did it because she didn’t want to carry around two devices.
She also said kissing Arafat’s wife was like a handshake, and that she had been given a mistranslation of her speech. That’s actually more credible than the email excuse.
